'child overdue' film clip below... a visual outline to my music thanks to Renata Bliss..
..silent nods to acknowledgement awkward moments in lifts, double shot soy latte's, the space between your last shift and the hour your flight leaves, finding somewhere to sing you loudest unheard, a month before the denim breaks at the knees, music, three days after hearing the bad news, smells that bring back ten years ago, losing your guitar in the back of a cab, finding the egg ring in your take away hamburger, laughing out loud two days after a joke, friends leaving, leaving friends, going to the place after two days and no sleep, private jokes that offend others, the beatles, coopers pale ale, restless legs, night terrors, social lubricants, lyrics that hit home, the first and last drink, knowing it was too close last time, the second you can't change your mind, thirty metres underwater, locking eyes before meeting...
"Brother to Sleep" film clip above.. pictures to my words.. dedicated to my friend Chris Bird, who flew too high..
..holding ones breath for the longest time possible before swimming to the surface with a crooked smile and a fresh alergy to top ten hits and wet spaces, rocking backwards and forwards with arms grasped tightly around knees, wishing to either be first or last with enough time to think between long sips of long island winters and sydney soaked autumns.. jumping at the chance to leave it all again while fresh thoughts grow in strange places and familiar steps cast some beautiful shadows, playing hide and seek with new friends, everybody in each others mouths again, wide eyed experiences, the taste of sunrise in the back of your throat and a knock at the front door screaming for attention, bleeding for affection, holding six strings against fingernails like drawn bows waiting for the mood to close and the next word spoken to hold us all up tall, eyes to the sky, the sound of chatter raising eyebrows from neighbours, plucking jokes from our sides, praying to statues for some depth to our sighs, collapsing in halls with briefcases and lies as all our secrets spill gently into another days light.. the perfect sound of one note held softly in a small room, is enough sometimes to get me by.. the coffee that leads me to friends and conversation is usually the story a song can write.. all the voices and players, the music in bedrooms, all the kind souls i know are enough to inspire...

Ask APRA why they can't let you guys do the same.
I've been waking up this last week with a line running through my head: "Quietly, you're already free, you're al... already free." It took me a while to remember where it's from. I miss you, but you're always with me!

Yeah man. Things are good over here, I'm doing a few gigs around the place and working hard teaching music. This east coast tour sounds like fun! Hope it goes well my friend.
