ARTIST - Devendra Banhart
TRACK - Quedate Luna
Couldn’t find a ‘real’ video probably because Banhart is too much of a lazy hippy to have produced one, but some fan put together a home video or something over on YouTube & used this song as the music – beautiful track even though Banhart seems a bit kooky:

KEEPING ME UP AT NIGHT
BOOK - ALL TOO HUMAN: A POLITICAL EDUCATION
Book on tape, an abridgement as read by the author, 1999.
AUTHOR - George Stephanopoulos
Hoopla’s Commentary:
2 cassette tapes, 3 hours total – I just love listening to GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS read this out loud with his own pauses, sighs, intensity, intonation, and of course, hearing him call Hillary Clinton an outright bitch just does my heart good for some reason. Heh! Later on, however, he tells her that he loves her and then, of course, proceeds to stab her and everyone else in the back. This seems like one of those which-came-first deals with the knife stabbing though. Such is the world of D.C. and the White House, no? Jeez.
Honestly… this was a very entertaining listen and makes me wish I could’ve hung out in THE WAR ROOM with Stephanopoulos and JAMES CARVILLE even more now. hahahaa

BOOK - FREAKONOMICS – A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
Book on CD as read by Stephen J. Dubner
AUTHOR - Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner
Hoopla’s Commentary:
6 CD’s, 7 hours – Incredibly interesting look at how everything effects everything including some things you didn’t think of as being part of ‘everything’.

BOOK - On the Road
Audio book on CD as performed by Matt Dillon
AUTHOR - Jack Kerouac
Hoopla’s Commentary:
Makes me want to experience something new EVERY day as a way of life. Only 1 CD into the 10-CD collection so far – makes me laugh out loud while I’m alone and makes me want to take a ROAD TRIP!

BOOK - What Do You Care
WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK?
AUTHOR - Richard P. Feynman
Hoopla’s Commentary:
I’ve always enjoyed reading any kind of personal account of Richard Feynman’s. I imagine that he writes much in the way he probably spoke. That’s my favorite kind of reading – makes me feel like I’m having more of a conversation with the person and that at any moment, I’ll be able to chime-in and give my 2-cents worth on the topic…
The first part of this book explains some of the influence his father and first wife had on his life – the second part goes into great detail of his experience while he was helping to investigate the CHALLENGER DISASTER. As usual – he explains things in layman’s terms but DOES go into a much higher level of detail and insight than I was expecting, making this a *very* interesting read. WELL worth the 20 bucks I paid!

BOOK - Richard Branson, Virgin King: Inside Richard Branson's Business Empire
AUTHOR - Tim Jackson
Hoopla’s Commentary:
I’m only about 1/3 of the way through it so far - very fluid, easy read. It's interesting to find that even though Branson is a ballbuster when it comes to financial negotiations, it also seems he's a very passionate man about the way he lives his life and I don't think it's all just for the press... Sure, he might be a little A.D.D. but what risk-taking, adrenaline-junkie, entrepreneur isn’t? This book was written 11 years ago... I’m sure he’s mellowed with age. Just my type. ;~)

BOOK - Computer Literacy
A Hands-On Approach
For the APPLE
AUTHOR - Arthur Luehrmann and Herbert Peckham
Hoopla’s Commentary:
This is an old schoolbook of mine from 1983! Since computers were so new and to make it easier for kids to relate - they refer to the computer monitor as “the TV screen” throughout the book. Heh!

About me:
DON'T MAKE ME STAB YOU
The first thing you should know about me is this:
Tom is not *only* my friend, he's my MySpace boyfriend:
DYSLEXICS OF THE WORLD UNTIE!
If I'm not responding to your messages it's probably because I blocked your profile but don't take it personally - there's just something about you I don't like.
Nothing lasts forever, so live it up, drink it down, laugh it off, avoid the bullshit, take chances, and NEVER have regrets, because at ONE point - everything you did was exactly what you wanted to do.
Born and raised in Atlanta, I have a big family and lots of really great friends. Pretty much I'm an energetic, outgoing type - but like my down time at home by myself too. I listen to all kinds of music... jazz, classical, electronica, old-school country, punk, post-punk, dance, hip hop, rap, zydeco, metal, funk, Motown, soul, etc... if you've got something you're into - link it to me, I'd love to hear it!
Despite the fact that I go off on crazy rants about stupid shit - I really enjoy my life, people, and the world around me. Life is too short *not* to pull dork seizures - so GO AHEAD PEOPLE - pull a dork seizure & give me some ammo! There's too much funny in the world to worry about offending people or embarrassing yourself. I'm usually the biggest source of the stuff I make fun of anyways.
ADULT SWIM? I DUNNO… BUT IT’S FUNNY

Who I'd like to meet:
Emotionally evolved, goofy as hell, at least *somewhat* intelligent people for interesting conversations and doing fun stuff with like going to new restaurants, cocktails at the Sundial, rollercoasters at Six Flags, batting cages, driving range, hiking, hockey / baseball / basketball games, volunteer work, pinot noir, jazz, hip-hop, electronica, post-punk, rock, local musicians, museums, galleries, art stuff, clubs, plays, movies, festivals, or any kinda’ relatively low-key stuff without any Jerry Springer drama you can think of that I don’t think sounds stOOpit.
LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO?
If you're in the Atlanta area and would like to turn your computer off and actually go DO something, check out the
ACTIVE ATLANTANS group I belong to over on Tribe.net and if you get REALLY damn bored but DON'T want to turn your computer off, check out my social commentary blog

OH YEAH! I almost forgot... if you're a MySpace girl collector or try to send me pics of your goober, believe me... I’m *not* the girl for you... and if you're on my friends list and you try to drop some gay-ass sparkly shit into my comments section I will stab you.
In the head.
More than once.
HAVE A NICE DAY!
Wait a minute... What would a Hoopla's profile be without a cute kitty video?
