The Atlanta Sedition Orchestra (ASO) came together in late 2007 in order to serve radical and progressive organizations by providing a booty-shaking soundtrack. We are a street band in the tradition of New Orleans, Brasil, the Labor Bands of the US, the village bands of Eastern Europe and generally, street music everywhere.
We have nearly 20 members and are still recruiting. You can be a virtuoso at your instrument, or someone who hasn't played in years; you can be brand new to playing and willing to learn. We practice Sunday evenings.
We'll be playing benefits, radio shows, marches, demonstrations, protests and shows at local clubs and in the streets. We will support good work, bring some energy to those around us and most importantly, have fun.

"If you have not seen this band, they look and sound as if a marching band escaped from a Tim Burton film to rock your mom's [multiple expletives removed] house. They marched, dancing in sync, right past the stage, telling the crowd to follow them to the streets...and we did. It's hard to resist following a band that features a girl playing a double Tuba, painted like a dragon. Yes, you read me correctly, a dragon. The ASO proceeded to march and dance back and forth in front of WonderRoot for about an hour, grabbing everyone within reach to join them in their demonstration of how hard band kids can tear their instruments. HARD. I will be seeing them again."

Atlanta Sedition Orchestra's Friend Space (Top 20)
Please join our campaign to oppose dirty coal and help urge key decision makers to invest in energy conservation, efficiency and renewables for our state. The next energy committee meeting will be held at the Georgia Chapter office Sunday, May 4th at 5pm.
PROBLEM: Dynegy, Inc., a Houston, Texas based corporation, intends to build a coal-fired power plant in Early County Georgia on the banks of the Chattahoochee River south of Columbus . Unlike a Georgia Power facility, this plant will be a "merchant plant", which means the electricity to be produced is not a response to existing needs, but is to be produced for sale to a national market.
That means they get all the profits and we get all the pollution!
URGENCY: Despite evidence that Dynegy's proposed coal plant would emit harmful levels of air pollution, threatening the local rural economy and public health, an Administrative Law judge appointed by Gov. Purdue ruled in favor of the plant during the initial law suite, approving the air permit needed for Dynegy's plans to progress.
SOLUTION/ACTION: We CAN stop this coal-fired power plant. Tell Dynegy we want clean energy now, not new coal.
9 million new lbs of Carbon Dioxide Emissions went UNREGULATED, and despite saying they are building with "best available technology" Dynegy hasn't considered better available scrubbers, or IGCC technology).
Come-out and help express our generations collective concern for our clean air and water, and to move away from the Coal that is treatening our future and communities.
