In AC on July 4th - The Largest Fireworks Display (South of NYC)


Harrah’s Resort and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Present The Largest Fireworks Display South of New York City

On Saturday, July 4, 2009, a spectacular fireworks demonstration will illuminate the skies above Atlantic City’s Marina District. Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa have joined forces to sponsor a freedom celebration fireworks display, making this among the largest fireworks show on the entire East Coast.

The show will last approximately 20 minutes and will be an elaborate display that will be a highlight of the holiday weekend. The show will be orchestrated by Fireworks by Grucci of New York, the “First Family of Fireworks".

The show is open to the public with viewing areas opening at 6pm at both properties. The fireworks, which will be discharged from between Borgata and Harrah’s Resort, are scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m. Weather and wind conditions may affect the timing of the fireworks show.

The fireworks are choreographed to music, which is broadcast over 95.1 WAYV FM radio. Spectators can bring their portable radios and tune in to enjoy the perfectly synchronized fireworks show without any sound delay.

Atlantic City Airshow Awarded 2009 New Jersey Governor's Tourism Award

NJ State Office of Travel & Tourism has announced that the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce and the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority are recipients of a 2009 New Jersey Governor's Tourism Award for the Atlantic City Airshow - "Thunder Over the Boardwalk" and annual event.

Congratulations to the other 9 recipients, too! Awards to be distributed at Governor's Conference on Tourism in AC next week www.njtia.org

Ten winners will be honored. The honorees represent a group of organizations who have shown exemplary dedication to New Jersey's tourism industry. These organizations vary in size, and many have been able to get impressive results on modest budgets. They've targeted out-of-state visitors, increased the visitor's length of stay, and drove home the message that New Jersey is a travel destination second to none. All were able to illustrate this through their nomination by firmly and reliably tracking their return on investment.
