Influences
The Atlantic Messenger has been influenced by every piece of music to hit their ears and touch their hearts. And also, 25 cent beer, girls turned off by deep thought and human drama.
Sounds Like
Pretentiousness with a sense of humor all wrapped up in twanging guitars, driving rhythms, and intricate lyrical structure. Best listened to with a shot of whiskey and a cigarette.
"The Atlantic Messenger is the indie folk sound that’s unspoiled by gimmicks and flashy production. This multi-instrumentalist trio, led by songwriter Johnny Red, tells true-to-life stories of history, travels, and the life of a struggling poor musician. Though the scratchy lo-fi recordings leave something to be desired, it may very well be the (lack of) quality in the earnest and unforgiving, straightforward seediness that leaves a big impression on the heavy-hearted."

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE ATLANTIC MESSENGER:
"The Atlantic Messenger writes songs that their influences (women turned off by deep thought) will never understand, but would be more than willing to make out with them to...I get this kind of Bright Eyes "Letting Off The Happiness" feel because of the recording, but I like the sound a lot... You might actually make the dumb girls think while they make out with you to the music.

I get this kind of Bright Eyes "Letting Off The Happiness" feel because of the recording, but I like the sound a lot. I don't know what you guys would sound like with drums, I hope it won't detract from the sound you have now. Slow Burn is my favorite.
