The music of The Atmosferics features the harmonic blend of electric guitar, saxophone, keyboards, bass and drums to create a jamming musical journey that stretches the limits of improvisation. And they get the crowds dancing. Their musical roots stretch far and wide, drawing from a deep pool of influences from classic rockers like Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to the improvisational nether-regions of The Grateful Dead, Phish and Miles Davis' electric period. Set lists are often eclectic, comprised of all original tunes (with an occasional cover for fun) that are drawn from a number of funk styles. The lyricless "Gutter" lives true to the raw funk and spatial groove that could only be influenced by the New Orleans funk scene, while the song, "Little Hours," is a Latin funk blues that combines folkloric lyrics with head-bopping solos.

The Atmosferics have opened for the Stanton Moore Trio and Bobby Previte's "Coalition of the Willing," featuring Charlie Hunter, at The Knitting Factory. In September of 2007 the Atmosferics opened for Keller Williams at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. They have also played on the stages at The Crossroads, The Lions Den and The Bitter End.
