SINGLE OF THE WEEK: (A) FUCK OFF / THE SWANKERS (AA) ATOMIC SUPLEXED BY A GIRL / ATOMIC SUPLEX (DEATH POP RECORDS)
Atomic Suplex dispense with the formalities (read: the tune) altogether, preferring to unleash one and a half minutes of pure offensive distortion. Both these bands are rare things of beauty – and deserve your ass for dinner.
- Artrocker
Wow, the ATOMIC SUPLEX track, 'Atomic Suplexed by a Girl,' is a mid-to-faster-paced garage rocker that packs a serious punch. It's catchy enough that you can't help but bounce your head in time with the 'beat.' And it's all over within two minutes; you can't ask for much more than that. When you're all done you feel like you¹ve had a triple espresso. That's right, I said 'espresso.' THE SWANKERS cut, 'Fuck Off,' is just as rocking, but take away a little garage and add some UK power pop. Oh, and it's got the sort of female vocals that just drive me wild. Individually, these cuts would be worth searching out. Together on a single disc, you really need to track this one down.
- MAXIMUM ROCK AND ROLL
ATOMIC SUPLEX follows with a massively distorted rage of garage rock, “Atomic Suplexed by a Girl.” Unfortunately, here the lo-fi production or actually no-fi production works against the band. There’s a killer riff and some tasty guitar parts in there somewhere, but it’s all lost in a screaching sea of static and feedback. While that may appeal to some, I like even my fuzz rock to be a touch cleaner than this. It’s a shame. Sounds like a great song under the noise, if the guys clean it up just a touch, they’ll have a winner.

"Sounds like it was not only recorded live, but recorded live down a tin can to a tape recorder at the other end of a phone, and sounding great for it!" - Mark Lamarr, BBC Radio 2
There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling the transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image; make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to the Outer Limits.
Yes, I know I post this every Thanksgiving, but, like Thaksgiving itself, it is a "tradition" with me... The picture may be horrible, but so are the roots of this "holiday."
To my friends from other parts of the world, uhhmmm...I guess you could "give thanks" anyways. Like, you can be thankful that you have a computer so you can receive many disgusting images from me; and you can ALWAYS be thankful that this world has CATS...and dogs, and gerbils, and stink-bugs!
