The Atomic Love Bombs are a San Francisco-based indie band with roots firmly entrenched in the West Coast psychedelic scene. Their neo-psychedelic sound is led by a shatteringly loud wall of droning distortion meshed with catchy psych-pop-garage hooks and inspiring melodies and lyrics.
Influenced by everything from The Velvet Underground and The Kinks of the 60s to The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Warlocks of today, The Atomic Love Bombs stand apart from their contemporaries because of their keen sense of songcrafting and dynamics.
Bassist Tim Rye and guitarist Bryan Chaffin handle the lead vocals, while the guitar interplay of Ben Lyman and Joe Mitch is inventive and adds a haunting blend of melody and noise to each song. The rave-up rhythm section is rounded out by drummer Brad Phillips.
Their first album Let it Burn, will be available on iTunes and Amazon on August 14th, but will be officially released on July 11th at Broadway Studios in San Francisco. Tickets are $10 and all net proceeds will benefit Girls, Inc. of Alameda County.
