Bass Invader Side Project = PFX-68 Who’s he? PFX, the boss, complicated, a tortured soul. Insomniac, always in a hurry, never short of a plan, with his eyes firmly fixed on the next big thing. Never satisfied, he’s constantly striving to do better What does he do? He thinks sleeps and dreams music, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He always adds a touch too much bass to the mix. He worries that there’s something wrong if he’s got nothing to worry about. What does he have? A superb custom-built bass…a beautiful baby boy…spectacularly strange and immeasurable desires…the obsessive attention to detail of a true perfectionist…a vivid and somewhat twisted imagination…the love and respect of the other members of Atomic Tabasco. What does he like? Girls that are out of the ordinary…eating and drinking…fresh lime with his Tequila shots…swearing…playing live…Tommy’s Diner…Kustom magazine…corny B-movies…extra-hot chili sauce. What doesn’t he like? Computer crashes…people who look like him…cigarette smoke…inconsiderate drivers…cheap coffee…people who try to make up his mind for him…being taken for granted…sound engineers who tell him to turn down his bass…fashion victims Sick String Specialist Side Project = SubDivision Who’s he? Fodgy, tireless and wired-up, impulsive and generous to a fault. He’s full of good ideas and not-so-good ideas and always optimistic. Cheeky but obedient, he likes to be seen to rebel from time to time… What does he do? He handles his guitar in a frenzied and slightly bizarre way…his playing style is both indefinable and incomprehensible. In the opinion of the Director of CSETI (Center for the Study of Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence), who has thoroughly investigated his case, he is believed to be an alien guitarist who is using his “Texas instrument” as a way of communicating with the inhabitants of his planet in the vain hope that they’ll come and take him home… What does he have? An opinion about everything, especially when no-one actually wants to hear it…an annoying tendency to play too loud at rehearsals…a very big heart…piercings in unusual places…the desire for everyone around him to be happy…a phone he never answers… What does he like? Chocolate…latex…inviting everyone for a barbecue (as long as Lol does the cooking)…posing for photos...being with his friends…being on his own… What doesn’t he like? Having to miss “Tele Foot” on a Sunday morning…people who moan…being with his friends…being on his own…not being in control (apart from when it’s his guitar that takes over) Voice Squad Vixen Side Project = SubDivision Who’s she? Dee, hot, beautiful and rebellious, the star of her own soap opera, a totally loved-up, 100% zombie slut… What does she do? She corrects everybody’s faults and replaces them with her own mistakes. She writes sexy, disjointed lyrics, she’s always on the phone, except for when she’s sleeping. She doesn’t sleep much because she’s always on the phone… What does she have? An infuriating modesty…an obsessive laziness… a brand-new I-phone…a Wii…in fact, every gimmick and gadget under the sun…a good excuse for everything…a large collection of bottles of exceptional-quality Tequila… very expensive taste…well-brushed teeth…English tea bags…tons and tons of clothes… ridiculous platform boots…the desire to please everybody… What does she like? Coke and Quavers…getting wasted…nicotine patches…to be adored…running water…the unknown…sunshine…white sand…the sea…fish and chips…Oxford Street…shopping for clothes…counting calories…playing her piano…trying to sleep…sleeping…not sleeping…surfing the Net…her phone What doesn’t she like? Being bossed about…being made to conform…changing her plans…fat…beer…being alone…counting calories…going to bed…getting out of bed…hangovers...overpowering big-headed work colleagues…letting people down Atomic Arpeggiator Side Project = A.B.B.O Who’s he? Seb, at heart he’s a simple, slightly mad scientist, but ever since an experiment that went slightly wrong he’s been able to plug himself directly into his toaster and make strange, synthesized sounds (although he can also make toast if requested) What does he have? Enough cool to be able to keep other people’s beer cold in his pockets (definitely a plus point as far as the rest of the band are concerned)…very little money…a very big heart…a perpetually optimistic nature…unstinting loyalty to his friends…big puppy-dog eyes and a cheeky smile What does he like? Films that have lots of “ho nooooon yarrrrglaaaaa brrrrrrr tchwing tchwing aaaaaaargh" noises in them…Industrial Music for Dummies (and Mummies)…spending hours coaxing bloodcurdling sounds out of his analogue synths…never being where he’s supposed to be…being with the rest of the band and doing what he wouldn’t be able to do with anyone else What doesn’t he like? When the shit hits the fan…his bank manager, with whom he has a strange love-hate (mostly hate) relationship…people who think they’re the only person on the planet…knowing that any of his friends are unhappy
