Atomic Workers was formed in 2003 by Michele Rossiello after he had moved
from Bari, Italy to London, UK. In London he wrote enough material worth an album and together with some friends he recorded what became the band’s debut album Embryonic Suicide. The album was released by Acme Records and Nasoni Records in 2006. The recording received positive reviews in both Europe and U.S.A. and the band was invited to play some selected gigs in Europe.
Between the end of 2006 and in the first months of 2007 Atomic Workers recorded their second album Wall of water behind me which came out in July 2007 on Nasoni Records.
Atomic Workers features members who are living in different countries but bounded by their friendship and love for music. Together they have created a signature sound inspired by rock, psychedelia and early punk. The band’s work both live and in the studio is based on core members and collaboration of guest musicians.
Wall of water behind me (Nasoni Records)
The writing formula of Atomic Workers’ second album has not changed from the first album. Michele Rossiello playing bass guitar has composed five of the seven songs. The songs were then shaped in the studio with Daniele Sindaco’s solid guitar work and Angelo Pantaleo’s eastern-inspired drumming. Daniele and Angelo also contributed to the song writing with one track each. In December 2006 the trio recorded all the rhythm tracks with producer Davide Viterbo at Tom Tom Studio (Bari, Italy). The tunes were completed at Third Eye Studio in Hastings, UK in March 2007 with the help of several guest musicians: Guy McKnight (Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster) wrote lyrics and sang on four tracks, Joolie Wood (Current 93) played violin and sang on two tracks and Gary Ramon (Sundial) who added some lead guitar and sitar. An old friend and respected musician Fabio Mongelli sang and played several instruments on one track; Haj Yahya Ashraf did some vocals in one track. Finally the mastering was handled by Dennis Blackham at Skye Studio.
On Wall of water behind me the band and producer made the choice of keeping the sound as simple as possible with the guitars actually sounding like guitars with bass and drums forming a suitable foundation. Contrary to the common choice in modern rock, here the band sounds as dry as a mouthful of sand but at the same time broadens its diversity in moods and textures.

Angelo Pantaleo, drums, vocal

Doom will never die, DOOMRAISER too!
Stay tuned… and slower, harder, drunker!
Doom will never die, DOOMRAISER too! As one door closes, another opens. Valerio has decided to leave the band; he wants to concentrate more on his other projects. We all wish Valerio the best of luck with his new vocation. He was, and remains, a formidable guitarist and was an integral
