Austria may be known as the classical music capital of the world, but make no mistake, Cornerstone is here to rock. This ambitious foursome, comprised of vocalist Anja Schirmer, Michael Wachelhofer on bass, keyboards & vocals, Steve Wachelhofer on guitars & vocals and Hannah Wachter providing drums and percussion, has been honing their signature sound since 1999. The band is now ready to make their mark on the US music scene with their new album, Head Over Heels. The disc bridges the gap between indie pop and mainstream rock. Cornerstone was winner of Alternative Addiction's Next Big Thing contest and after one listen to Head Over Heels, you'll know that these Austrian's are ready, willing and able to be the next big thing in modern rock and roll.
Donal Hinely: Blue State Boy
Donal Hinely's fifth CD release, Blue State Boy, will take the listener on a musical journey that they soon won't forget. Born and raised in Texas and now calling Nashville home, Hinely writes and sings fresh tales about political concerns, country kitchens, tractor pulls, lost souls, the current state of the American Dream and of course not forgetting a love song or two. Few artists could cover such a broad range so well... placing Hinely in a group as talented as Steve Earle, John Prine or Hinely's musical hero Nick Lowe. Hinely's past CDs have been praised by Paste Magazine, Pop Matter Magazine, Americana Roots & Folk Review. Blue State Boy is destined to be another highly regarded release in this singer/songwriter's rich career.
ATOM'S FIRST MUSIC VIDEO... MONA MONA BY DONAL HINELY
"Mona Mona, where are you tonight?" is the question asked by Donal Hinely is his new song Mona, Mona from his Blue State Boy CD. In a music video directed by J. Todd Anderson (storyboard artist for films such as Leatherheads and No Country for Old Men) and edited by Michael Maney, Donal and his musical companion Chris Noon take a cautious musical journey searching for Mona (Laura Owen).
JOHN SULLIVAN RELEASES A NEW CD... Touch The Sky
Vermont resident John Sullivan has just released his second ATOM CD... Touch The Sky. Fans of straight forward rock-n-roll and acoustic tinged rock music will enjoy John's new disc. Sullivan is blessed with a killer voice and a strong sense of melody. He also pays tribute to his musical heroes the Beatles, by covering two of their songs on this 12-song release.

Check out www.perfectmovie.net to hear ATOM friends J. Todd Anderson and George Willeman in their weekly program called Filmically Perfect. Each show (which is archived on their web site) reviews a movie that Anderson and Willeman deem to be "perfect" in matching their rules and criteria for great films. Anderson directed the first ATOM music video for Donal Hinely's song Mona, Mona and he was the storyboard artist for films such as No Country For Old Men, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and Men In Black. He's also directed several films & acted in movies such as Fargo, Leatherheads, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Willeman works for the Library of Congress as a film archivist. Filmically Perfect offers a refreshing look at movies...some that you will know and many that are unknown treasures. Barefoot Servants bassist Lee Sklar joined the program when the guys reviewed To Kill A Mockingbird (one of Lee's favorite movies).
And speaking of movies, ATOM Records is helping the guys at PerfectMovie.net by being their web site distributor for their new comedy... My Mummy - The Tomb Is a Drag Without Her. ATOM Records is a record label founded in 1999 by Scott Kinnison. The company name is an acronym for All Types Of Music, and is reflective of the musical tastes of the company's founder.
Based in Dayton, OH, the focus of the label is to assist new and established artists in selling their music on-line. The internet has opened the door for artists to directly reach their fans. ATOM allows an artist to sell CDs and merchandise to their fans by linking the artist's web site to the ATOM Online Store.
ATOM Records also encourages artists to offer special items when things are purchased from the artist's web site, such as autographed CDs, collectable guitar picks, posters, stickers, etc. Kinnison stated, "Being a music fan first, I like an artist to offer something that I would want to own if I were a fan of an artist's music. You also want to reward fans that buy things directly from your site, because those transactions are the most financially rewarding."
In addition to the artist's own web site, ATOM also uses the following distribution partners...
* Independent record stores such as Newbury Comics, Metro City Records, Dingleberry's, and Gem City Records
There are numerous benefits when an artist partners with ATOM Records. ATOM takes care of things like CD manufacturing, mechanical licensing, promotion, distribution, order processing, and order fullfillment. The artist focuses
on the music, and we focus on the rest. But most importantly with ATOM... the artists are paid for the music they sell.
How many times have you heard of an artist getting ripped off and never paid for the music they made? It's all too common in the music industry. But this is not the case with ATOM. Our artists get quarterly sales reports, showing how much of their music was sold and the channel(s) the music was sold through. We may not sell as many units as companies like EMI or Universal Music Group; but with ATOM, artists get paid for what they sell. And the music they make will be owned by them, not some huge corporation.
Jon Butcher, the first artist to work with ATOM, commented, "Working with Scott and the folks at ATOM has been great. They take care of the details, so I can focus on releasing quality music. Plus, they are a label that actually pays you. Wow, what a concept... a record label that actually pays the artist!"
