Atrum Inferum is a five-piece metal band from Slovenia. The band's origins go back to the year 2006, when Robi, our ex-guitar player, and Anze, our drummer, got together to play a few sessions of Metallica's songs. What was only fun soon grew into a desire to construct a new band. However, quite some time passed before they came back together again, and soon after another guitar player was invited, Seiko, and Daniel came to sing as the frontman of the band. The band had a few rehersals in this line-up before Jure, the third guitar player, was brought aboard. This is when the band hit it's first obstacle. Personal reasons led to the loss of Daniel, and soon after Seiko left as well. New light was brought in the band by our bass player Robert not long after, and things started getting back on track. As the band had no vocalist at the time, the four members came together on a weekly basis to play out some songs.
Here comes the second era of the band - the quest for the right vocalist. After Daniel left the band, we tried out about 4 to 6 different people, but noone seemed to suit our style. After a while of searching we did, however, got not only one, but two vocalists. A girl named Ana and her (at the time) boyfriend Tilen. Problems arose a few months later again, when the two broke up and Tilen left. The band moved from Podljubelj, where it used to practice, to Kranj, where it still practises today. After it's move, the band hit a second milestone in it's career: we decided to stop playing only cover songs and to start working on our own material. Ana was kicked out of the band as we decided to try and find a vocalist who could growl instead of sing. Luck was on our side this time and soon after we found Tomaz, our current vocalist. The first two concert ensued soon after, and things seemed to be going really well.
This is where the third era of the band comes in. Robi, our long-time guitar player left the band for personal reasons. What at first seemed like a shot to the head for the band soon turned around. With time, it was shown that it was for the best. Robi's leave forced the remaining four members of the band to take it upon themselves to bring Atrum Inferum out of the dark of oblivion into the forefront of Slovenia's metal bands. In just a bit over three months, the band constructed roughly eleven new songs, five of which were later recorded for their first demo. Another concert followed and the band felt like everything was coming back together.
Now it's the fourth era of the band. A new guitar player, also named Jure, was taken in, and his uncunning music style and burning will to do his best have brought new fires into the band. We are more determined than ever before to show ourselves as talented individuals, who come together to make great music. New songs are being made, concerts planned. With a little luck, we will finally leave the bumpy road behind and continue on into a brighter future.
