About me: Atsui [aht 'su EE] - 1. The Japanese word for 'hot'. 2. The perfect way to describe Houston, Texas.
Greetings and welcome back to the Myspace page for the Houston convention that has been dubbed the "Unconventional Convention," AtsuiCon! Now that we've gotten our first year under our belts, it's time to gear up for our second season. We are bypassing 2008 to fix a lot of the problems that plagued us last time. We will be back in the summer of 2009 with a new location, new activities to experience, and new people to see. If you've missed out on our first year, talk with people who went and loved it. When we say we are a convention 'by the fans, for the fans,' it means that YOU tell us what you want and we will do our best to fit it in. You wanted inexpensive food at the venue, we got it for you (too bad they ran out the first day). You wanted things to do in the middle of the night, you got it. You wanted guests you've never seen at other or any conventions, we brought them in. We thank everyone who helped us keep our first year alive.
2009 will be bigger and better. And no worries of those first year problems again.
For more information, visit www.AtsuiCon.com! We are going to update our website soon. So stay tuned!
We've just launched our new temp website for AtsuiCon.com. Go and check it out! It also has a link to Radio Atsui! AtsuiCon's official ~FREE~ internet anime radio station.
Anime Secrets is hosting the second annual Halloween Cosplay Contest! Also returning to help us pull off this event is Funimation, who were our sponsors last year, and provided boxsets to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The contest is fairly simple. Email you in your cosplay no later then November 15th, 2009, and wait for results. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain!
