ATTACK CAT BIO
When Dave Douglas left the Capitol Records band, Relient K critics and fans said he was throwing away his career.
But Douglas was only making up for lost time, immediately throwing himself into work on the pop rock project, ATTACK CAT. Teaming up songwriter and vocalist, Red, the duo convinced Josh Young, a drummer and former stage manager for The Plain White T’s to move to Cleveland, and join the project.
Final members joined soon after and in summer of ‘09 AC began working on their debut EP "When the Moon Was Big."
Led by girl/guy vocalists, Red (keys) and Douglas (guitar) ATTACK CAT boasts trade-off leads and tight harmonies from four, out of the five members including Justin Jarrett (bass) and Matt Pelsma (guitar) with Young on drums.
Their soon-to-be-released "When the Moon Was Big" features 8-tracks of driving pop-rock material, delivering emotionally charged vocals and gritty guitar-led tunes. Scheduled for release Nov. 3, the band will kick off the event with an ATTACK CAT “Super EP Release and Dance Party” at the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights, Wed., Nov. 4 at 8 p.m.
“We just want to make good music—something people can connect to,” said Douglas. “At least that’s the goal.”
Not shy about loving a good hook, ATTACK CAT wants to “Make Music To Move You and To Make You Want To Move.”
