Our stage time has been confirmed for METAL CAMP 08 - if you're heading out next week, make sure to come by the 2nd Stage on SATURDAY 5 JULY for 5pm. We are one of the top 9 newcomer bands for ticket-sales so we chose a good slot which means you can watch us on the 2nd stage then we'll all head round to the main stage for Finntroll and Meshuggah! Also, if you're in the campsite on Thursday 3rd, find the Attica Rage crew and join us for our BBQ, Beers & Whisky Campsite Meet-up Party - everyone is welcome. We'll have a BBQ on the go with some beers & Scottish malt whisky to share!
What's all this about?.....here's the quick update:
In January this year, ATTICA RAGE were shortlisted on METAL CAMP 2008 festival’s online fan voting poll amongst 1200 unsigned/independent bands from 60 countries worldwide - only 40 bands were selected by the festival organisers and offered a slot on the festival bill this year and ATTICA RAGE is one of them! The only Scottish band selected from the shortlist, one of only two Scottish bands performing and one of only two newcomer bands based in the UK!
The full line-up confirmed so far for METAL CAMP this year including headliners IN FLAMES, APOCALYPTICA, MINISTRY, MORBID ANGEL and ARCH ENEMY along with legendary bands such as ICED EARTH, HELLOWEEN, OPETH, SOILWORK, CARCASS, AMON AMARTH, WINTERSUN, KORPLIKAANI, MESHUGGAH, IN EXTREMO, FINNTROLL, EVERYGREY, ONSLAUGHT, BIOMECHANICAL, SIX FEET UNDER, HACRIDE, MERCENARY, BEHEMOTH, ELUVEITIE and many, many more, including fellow Scots ALESTORM. METAL CAMP 2008 open-air festival, dubbed “Hell Over Paradise”, is held between 3rd and 9th July and is celebrating it’s 5th anniversary this year. The festival grounds are set in the beautiful Julisch Alps national park in Tolmin, Slovenia, situated on a peninsula between the turquoise mountain rivers Socca and Tolminka. Aside from the main stage, there is a 2nd stage (where Attica will be perfoming), numerous campsites, a metal market and a beautiful beach by the rivers, complete with 24-hour beach bar with rock & metal DJs and 'adult entertainment'! A headbanger’s holiday paradise!

We are pleased to announce that we have had the album mastered in London by multi-platinum selling artist & record producer ACE - former guitarist, songwriter and founding member of SKUNK ANANSIE!!.
Ace is now guitarist with INNER MANTRA and an established record producer (SAL, KING PRAWN, GIRLSCHOOL, PLANET OF WOMEN, MULTI PURPOSE CHEMICAL and more) as well as a radio presenter on "The Damo and Ace Show" on Brighton's Juice 107.2 and occasional rock club DJing for Kerrang! and Monsters of Rock tours, as well as Download & Reading festivals. He also recorded his own solo LP 'ACESOUNDS' with a host of famous singers including JJ Burnell of THE STRANGLERS, Jason Perry of A, Skin from SKUNK ANANSIE, Benji from SKINDRED/DUB WAR, Skye of MORCHEEBA and none other than Mr. MOTORHEAD himself, Lemmy, amongst others.
Aside from songwriting, DJing and record production, Ace is a music recording techniques & FX pedal journalist, author of Creative Guitar 3 - Recording Effects and was writer for Guitarist Magazine between 2000 to 2006. He is also a part-time degree tutor at The Brighton Institute of Modern Music. As a recording artist, Ace recorded three albums with Skunk Anansie, one LP with Acesounds and one LP with Inner Mantra, totalling over 4.5 million sales. In the live arena, he has been involved with seven sell-out world tours over seven years, touring and playing large venues with such bands as Rammstein, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Killing Joke, Staind, Limp Bizkit, Muse, Stereophonics and Bon Jovi!!. Personal highlights include headlining Glastonbury Festival in 1999, performing with Luciano Pavarotti for the Dalai Lama and playing Nelson Mandela's 80th Birthday Gift to the nation stadium concerts. Skunk Anansie's last concert in the UK was a sell out show at the London Docklands Arena in 2000.
As long-time Skunk Anansie fans, we are so pleased to have had Ace master Attica's debut album and we can confirm it is sounding ultra-heavy, clear and uber-punchy - we can't wait to get it out there and let you hear it!

ATTICA RAGE are preparing to release their eagerly-awaited debut album this summer through their own independent label Vanduara Records. ‘RUIN NATION’ features eleven tracks of solid rock grooves, powerful metal anthems and dark, epic soundtracks. The LP has been self-produced by the band with bassist Big C at the helm, recording & mixing in his own home studio. The album has been mastered in London by multi-platinum selling artist, songwriter, DJ, author and record producer ACE, guitarist, songwriter & founding member of SKUNK ANANSIE (production credits include SAL, KING PRAWN, GIRLSCHOOL, PLANET OF WOMEN, MULTI PURPOSE CHEMICAL). Legendary MOTORHEAD artist JOE PETAGNO has designed the album cover art and new band logos. ATTICA RAGE will support the album’s release with a string of tour dates in the UK and Europe throughout the summer months and a full PR campaign throughout the year. Formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 2003 by Ayrshire brothers Richie Rage (drums) and Jonny Parr (vocals, guitar) with school friend Big C (bass, vocals) and Stephen Bell (guitar) joining in April 2007, a strong reputation has been established throughout Scotland and the UK through their energetic, commanding and consistent live performances and musicianship. ATTICA RAGE have supported a host of major touring bands from legendary metal icons SAXON, ARMORED SAINT (with JOHN BUSH of ANTHRAX), DIAMOND HEAD and BLITZKRIEG to Israel metallers BETZEFER and post-punk indie godfathers MARK E SMITH & THE FALL.

Since the release of self-produced EP 'In Concert with the Mirror' in 2005, ATTICA RAGE continue to find new fans across the globe. They receive regular radio airplay on terrestrial FM and internet stations across UK, Europe and USA including BRUCE DICKINSON’s (IRON MAIDEN) BBC6 Music Rock Show, legendary rock DJ TOM RUSSELL’s Friday Night Rock Show on 96.3 Rock Radio FM and New York’s The Darkide on Breakthru Radio. Numerous features, interviews and reviews have been published in regional, national and international press, magazines and webzines, all increasing the band’s profile. KERRANG! magazine heralded the EP as "a blended mesh of bad-ass riffs and pure metal revelry" and TERRORIZER magazine named the band in a feature special on the rise of UK metal bands.
Comparisons have been drawn to the likes of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and METALLICA but each member of ATTICA RAGE brings their own influences to the mix. Their musical roots are firmly planted in the classic power-groove riffs of BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC, PANTERA, OZZY, MOTORHEAD and fellow Scots THE ALMIGHTY with nods to the thrash metal of ANTHRAX and SLAYER and occasional flirtations with the darker sounds of TYPE O NEGATIVE and ALICE IN CHAINS. Staying true to their musical heritage, delivering powerful songs and performances with an unbridled and enthusiastic punk DIY attitude and belief - while standing aside from the latest passing trends & fashions – have found ATTICA RAGE an ever-increasing, loyal and passionate worldwide fan base. With the forthcoming release of debut album ‘RUIN NATION’, the future looks very busy and very promising for ATTICA RAGE.
