ATTICA RAGE is a hard rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. Formed in 2003 by Ayrshire brothers Richie Rage [drums] and Jonny Parr [vocals, guitar] with Big C [bass, vocals], the line-up was completed in 2007 by Stephen Bell [guitar].
Described by Metal Hammer Editor, Alexander Milas, as “a perfectly blended mesh of bad-ass riffs and pure metal revelry”, they are gaining wide-spread recognition and word-of-mouth reputation for their powerful live shows across the UK and Europe and modern classic heavy music for the 21st century. With world-wide sales and positive reactions to their 2008 debut album Ruin Nation, Attica Rage are preparing to intensify on all counts with the release of their second full-length album and extensive touring in 2010.
The music of Attica Rage is driven by the riffs, melodies and purity of their classic rock and heavy metal heritage. Dom Lawson nailed it with his observation in a 2009 festival review as “thunderous students of the old school....a massive and immediate hit!”. However, despite a shared love of Ozzy, Motorhead, Metallica, Maiden, Sabbath & co., ask each band member their personal influences and it’s evident that their collective inspiration comes from a wider spectrum than simply the heads-down, balls-out rock that bursts from the surface: blues & southern rock n’ roll; thrash metal; acoustic folk; gothic & punk as well as movie soundtracks all feed the creative and performance output of Attica Rage. Undoubtedly a hard-hitting, heavy music force by design, but expect a little diversity to rear its ugly head in the future.
Following an early demo in 2004 and their 2005 EP In Concert with the Mirror, it was October 2008 that saw the long-awaited release of self-financed debut album Ruin Nation on the band’s own DIY label Vanduara Records. The 11-track LP was produced by Big C, mastered by Ace of Skunk Anansie and features artwork designed by legendary Motörhead sleeve artist Joe Petagno. The track Dark City (with a bonus cover of Motörhead's Overkill) was released as a download single in May 2009, charting at No.1 on the TuneTribe Metal Charts and No.2 on the TuneTribe Download Charts. A promo video directed by Rodger Griffiths accompanied the single. Ruin Nation was an Album of the Month in Music News Scotland and Metal Hammer magazine. Despite no retail distribution, marketing or label backing, the international sales, reviews and overall support has been very encouraging. With a promising debut entry, Attica Rage are poised and determined to take this early success much further with the follow-up album.
A growing reputation and loyal fan-base has been built with their energetic live performances at shows across the UK and Europe. Attica Rage have supported British metal icons Saxon, Diamond Head and Blitzkrieg as well as Armored Saint (with Anthrax vocalist John Bush), Betzefer, Voodoo Six and, bizarrely, post-punk godfather Mark E Smith & The Fall. A lifelong dream came true in summer 2009 when they performed at the legendary Donington Park, England at the Boardie BBQ party at Download Festival, headlined that year by Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard along with ZZ Top, Motley Crue & Whitesnake. Attica Rage have also shared festival bills with Black Label Society, Down, Sepultura, Thin Lizzy, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Apocalyptica and Ministry amongst others. Their European festival debut was Metalcamp 2008 in Slovenia – the only unsigned British band to play the festival that year. They were then invited back in 2009 to open the main stage for Testament and Blind Guardian.
Their major UK festival debut was on the Young Blood stage at Hard Rock Hell II - The Dragon's Ball, Wales in December 2008. A triumphant performance and record crowd turnout opening the 2nd stage at the inaugural Hammerfest followed in April 2009. They also performed an acoustic set on the Jagermeister stage offering rare, alternative unpluged adaptations of their songs. Attica Rage return to Hard Rock Hell III - The Vikings' Ball in December 2009 alongside Monster Magnet, W.A.S.P and Queensryche. 2010 will see the band touring the UK and Europe extensively in support of the new album as well as a return to Hammerfest II in Wales with Iced Earth, Devildriver & Napalm Death as well as the first ever week-long rock festival experience in Ibiza, Spain - the HRH Roadtrip, with Wolf, Grand Magus & more.
2010 is the start of a new, exciting chapter in Attica Rage history. But whatever happens - it’s all about the riffs, the songs, the live shows, the lifestyle and above all....pure unadulterated hard n’ heavy rock n roll!

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
