Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Matthew Hill, Fludd, Allman Brothers -- too numerous to list them all really.
Sounds Like
All of the above, yet not like any of them really.
In 1971 two bands from neighbouring Moncton streets (one including David Marshall and Peter Sisk; the other including Dale Ramsay and John Laskey), joined forces with James (JJ) Duplacey from the West End, recruited drummer Brian Kelly, and dubbed themselves "Attic", named for their rehearsal space in Brian's parents' attic.
Attic acquired mostly a cult following because of their largely original repertoire (written mostly by Dale, JJ and Dave) supplemented by lesser-known cover songs of certain popular and fringe bands (i.e. Atomic Rooster, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple).
Through the combined efforts of JJ, Peter and Dale, Attic recently re-united in person and in cyberspace to create "Ghost Town", a song about the fate of Chatham, New Brunswick, the birthplace of JJ's parents and home to most of his ancestors.
Attic would love to hear from former members and fans of the band, and if you could supply pictures, posters, recordings and other memorabilia to post on this site that would be wonderful!

Hi Pete,
This is to weird.
Last week my assistant made a call to Moncton and she spoke to a man named Brian Kelly. I chuckled in my heart thinking....what if that is "THE" Brian Kelly. Since that moment my thoughts continued to drift to Brian. As I was driving, Attic came into my mind and how absolutely fascinating they were, especially to a young girl of 12. The dance at SunnySide was my first and it left a lifelong impression on me (no guff, I remember some of the songs clearly as if I were still there)...especially since my big sister was the drummers girlfriend.
I did a search on Brian Kelly just to see.......and look what curiosity comes up with.
Sue Buchanan is my older sister. Sue and Brian were very close. If I'm not mistaken, Sue has "stuff" that you may appreciate. I'll do some digging.
Names such as Pete Sisk, Sid Geldart, Dale Ramsey, Dave Marshall, James Duplacey brings back exceptional memories and extreme homesickness. You guys were my heroes and way out of my league. I remember sitting in Brian's parents attic and listening to the band. I thought that I was the coolest kid, 10 ft tall and bullet proof.
I'll see what I can find out of my sisters treasury.
This is way too cool.
