   About Attila & Dave Project
Formed in August of 1995 (the date of Jerry Garcia's death, to be specific), ADP's first goals were to avoid every current pop music influence, engage in the simulateneous twin masochistic practices of playing tragically unmarketable music and hauling more equipment than reasonable, and further the worship of Earl Grey tea.
David Stevenson's guitar was gently pulled from the punk of Sacramento and gingerly glued to jazz classicist Attila Medveczky's bass and his curious penchant for analog synthesis. Rusty Aceves' drumming and electronic eccentricities were forcibly snatched from the Eden-like paradise of a disregarded experimental/classical career and pressed into service. Voilà! The road to popularity has been paved with tacks and broken glass.
Spitting in the face of doubt, the trio perservered, racking up an impressive number of performances to apathetic or non-existant audiences, until finally gouging out a bloody foothold in the Bay Area music scene.
Three full-length recordings, innumerable treks across the desolate wastes of the continent and the joy of melting neurons one at a time is the only evidence and stand as their only rewards.
And now, over 10 years later, ADP continue to risk spinal injuries, deflect the disdain of the uneducated, rally the legion of the brave and stand on the verge of fading recognition.
Can you help?

I saw you guys at SLO Farmers Market the other night. Great job, seriously. Keep up the incredible work you'll go far. :)

I was walking around and stopped "Where's that hauntingly wonderful sounding Ween-ish Beatles-ish music I'm hearing coming from?!?!"

Didn't get to go to the coffee shop the next night but can't wait till you're in the area the other night.

And HAHA what did that guy say to you when he came up and started yelling toward the end of one of the songs?!?! I was like "oh man is the crowd going to have to intervene here, whats going on. . ."

Hello, our Oakland neighbors -

We need more great East Bay shows. Make the West Bay come to us.

That said, we're playing a four-act all-ages bill at Blake's on Telegraph tomorrow night (SUNDAY night, that is). It will be epic and fulvous. We would love to see you there.

In the Pantheon of Things That Are Badass, your Thing is so Badass that it's not even a Thing anymore and therefore does not belong in any Pantheon...Badass or Otherwise.

It's just Badass.
