Howdy! Thanks for stoppin' by to check out our MySpace page!
Atypical Situation is a Dave Matthews Tribute Band, but with a twist! We focus on the "live" DMB sound, and thus all of the songs that we learn and perform are based upon the live recordings.
For our most recent set, we have been learning the songs off of the new Dave Matthews Band CD Box Set "Weekend on the Rocks". This 8 CD collection was recorded live, at Red Rocks. It's an awesome collection of music, and some of the best DBM ever.
Atypical Situation was founded by Jim Cimino, who has been a DMB Fan ever since his first DMB concert. "I was never really a huge fan, until I saw them in concert. Then I saw them perform live, and I was hooked!"
In 2006, Jim started to collect the musical talent that makes up the band. Jim put a "posting" up on Craigs List, and found Atypical Situation's violin player, Kathryn. Then, at an open mic night at Crossroads (Garwood, NJ), Jim met "Saxaphone Joe", and invited him to join the band. Rick Lewis and Rich (R.k.S) Scott had played with Jim in another band, and so when Jim approached them about playing in a DMB Tribute Band, they were excited about the project. The final member, Mike Wilder of the Wilder Trio, completed the line-up, and Atypical Situation was born.
Rehearsals started in the spring of 2006, and the band has started playing for DMB fans all over the tri-state area! Maybe we'll see you at a DBM Show this summer!
