Movies
Some staples: SLC Punk!, Swingers, anything by Tarantino, anything by Kevin Smith (but especially Mallrats), anything by Wes Anderson, anything by Martin Scorsese, the Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Good Will Hunting, Big Lebowski (and anything by the Coen Brothers), Christmas Vacation (and all other Vacation movies, including Vegas), 80's comedies, "Frat Pack" movies.
Television
The Fox family of networks makes better television than anyone. This isn't open to debate. 24 is television's greatest show. What is open to debate is which Fox/FX show is almost as good. Rescue Me, The Shield, Nip/Tuck, House...all brilliant. (I once had Prison Break on this list until it jumped the shark.) Fox also is responsible for television's best comedy: The Simpsons, Family Guy and the now defunct Arrested Development (we barely knew you, GOB).
I'm also down with Lost. How I Met Your Mother. Friday Night Lights and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are the best shows you aren't watching. NBC's Thursday night block is terrific: My Name is Earl, The Office, Scrubs and 30 Rock. I also go through phases with GSN - depends on how good their lineup is at the time.

You probably already know about this one but April 24th Cross Canadian Ragweed is gonna be at Workplay. Great band, great venue. It's a Friday night too.
