Amidst the lingering echoes of Civil War cannon smoke and stately southern homes, Audie Darling was born. That night, there was a lunar eclipse and power outage beset the town. Her great grandmother proclaimed her to have the spirit of a wanderer. As she grew, she grew restless. With an easel and brushes she set out upon the land, traveling from the lakes of the north country to Parisian boulevards to the dry sagebrush slopes of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Along the way she collected memories in oil and canvas, nurturing her Southern roots while exploring corners far from home. Being the possessor of true artistic gifts, she increasingly began to put memories into musical form, splitting her time between the canvas and her inimitable guitar playing.. Using her penchant for seeing the beauty and story in any subject and an ability to draw from a rich pallette, she sculpts musical pictures of strikingly vivid imagery that grip the listener. With a voice like Appalachian fog settling over a sparkling autumn forest, she has captivated audiences far and wide.
FULL OF GHOSTS is available now! A collection of eleven enchanting songs, recorded at Type Foundry studios with the amazing Adam Selzer (whose past projects include Decemberists, M. Ward, Norfolk and Western, Mirah and Laura Gibson) this disc features guest appearances from many well know Portland musicians and comes beautifully packaged in cover art copied from Audie's hand embroidered crazy quilt.

[Audie Darling] is a sure and strong narrator, with control over not just the notes she sings but the feel behind them. Through her confidence and toughness, she retains the honey-stick sweetness and desperate twang of a small-town waitress aching to leave. Darling asks her listeners to buck up...as often as she pouts, and chooses to capture the delicate details of life’s fleeting moments over repeating coffeeshop love song cliches....She has a voice I don’t mind following through tough times. So, for those mornings when I do wake up with an itch for some sad acoustic songs, Darling’s ought to do the trick. Willamette Week
"Full of Ghosts" is an enchanting album. altcountryforum.nl
Audie Darling has everything you could want in a voice. Sultry, emotive, and with an undercurrent of grit that presses her words to the front of a dreamy wooden backdrop. Audie and her songs... have the broken in wisdom of a traveler, pruned of any pretension or excess.

A distinctly feminine brand of folk music...a fresh breath of rainy portland air!

That emo hillbilly girl Audie Darling.

Audie Darling has, a dare I say, "sultry" voice and the songs to back it up.

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
