Audio Ice Cream was first started back in 2005 by Chris MacDonald & Esteban Carracas @ the Hetherington Research Club in Glasgow so they could play a range of music very loud for their friends and showcase some of Glasgow's finest up and coming talents, both behind the decks and playing live.
Previous guests have included: Craig Hamilton & Full Phat (Flatpack Traxx); Boom Monk Ben (Solid Steel/Mixed Bizness); Jamie Young (Cotton Cake); resident favourite the Claw (Superfly); bands such as Mellow Submachine, Dub Sporadic, Suburban Funk Command, Pablo Eskimo; and many many more dj's & live sets!
With an anything goes music policy, provided you can dance to it and the night builds up in intensity, along with it's diverse range of styles from Funk, Soul, Disco, Indie, Rock, Dub, House, Electro, Techno & Drum & Bass (hence the name!) making every night unique, it was a sad day when we held the last event at the Post-Grad Club in March this year...
...but we are proud to announce our return at a new venue: the Black Sparrow basement at Charing Cross in Glasgow!
For the first Nerve release of 2009, we're very proud to present the debut EP from Copenhagen's Jean Doe.
It's drum n bass tinged with detroit techno and deep house, from the glitchy beats of the title track to deep rolling vibes on "Nuance" and "Fibre" before fellow Copenhagen based producer Pyro joins him for the epic and uplifting "Ambitions in A Minor".
Friday 9th November at S24, Edinburgh sees the launch of our sparkling new techno night! Don't miss exclusive sets from the outstanding Kevin Gorman and Le Chic from International Deejay Gogolo Records and Edinburgh's own legendary Elexx!
