The panel:
Andrew Scheps, producer, engineer, mixer, programmer:
After graduating from the University of Miami’s music school, Andrew Scheps worked for Synclavier. Following that he toured with both Stevie Wonder (as a keyboard tech) and Michael Jackson (mixing sound). Eventually Andrew began concentrating on recording, and he found himself engineering for some of the most successful producers in rock: Don Was, Rob Cavallo and Rick Rubin.
Andrew has recorded such diverse artists as Audioslave, Green Day, Johnny Cash, Jewel, Neil Diamond, Limp Bizkit, Alanis Morissette, The Mars Volta, The Rolling Stones and Linkin Park.
Recently, producers have begun to recognize Andrew’s abilities as a mixer, so he has mixed tracks for U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, and Camp Freddy.
Martin Page, recording artist, songwriter, producer:
MARTIN PAGE, who hails from Southampton, England, first gained recognition as a songwriter in the early 80’s with Top-40 hits for Kim Carnes and Earth, Wind & Fire, among others. With Bernie Taupin, whose usual partner was Elton John (and with Dennis Lambert & Peter Wolf), Page wrote “WE BUILT THIS CITY,” a Number One Hit for Starship (their first) in 1985. Page and Taupin returned to Number One the following year with “THESE DREAMS,” recorded by Heart (also Heart’s first chart topper). Teaming up with Peter Cox and Richard Drummie of the UK group Go West, Page wrote “KING OF WISHFUL THINKING,” which was featured in the movie “PRETTY WOMAN,” and became a Top Ten hit for GO WEST in 1990, and “FAITHFUL,” another hit for Go West. With Robbie Robertson, Page penned the critically acclaimed “FALLEN ANGEL,” featured in Robbie’s first solo album. Page has also written for, produced or worked with such artists as The Commodores, Barbra Streisand, Tom Jones, Paul Young, Brian Ferry, Phil Collins and Josh Groban, among many others. As a Songwriter/Recording Artist, Page gained success in America for his own band Q-Feel, with the dance hit, “DANCING IN HEAVEN,” which brought him to this country in the early 80’s; and later, Page’s debut solo LP “IN THE HOUSE OF STONE AND LIGHT” was released in 1994. In 1995, its title track became a substantial pop and adult contemporary hit – breaking the record as the longest charting single in Billboard’s A/C Chart history, and garnering Billboard’s “1995 Top Adult Contemporary Single Of The Year” Award, and ASCAP’s “most played” Award for 1995 and 1996 at ASCAP’s ANNUAL POP AWARDS. Page is about to release his 2nd solo album.

Rob Arbittier, producer, composer, programmer:
Rob Arbittier is a composer, songwriter, producer, arranger, engineer, and technologist. He started studying classical piano at age 3, but actually began his professional career in the music industry as a software designer…by creating the first non-visual computer-based MIDI sequencer system in 1985 and introducing Stevie Wonder to this new way of recording. He has been Stevie’s programmer / synthesist since then and continues to develop non-visual technologies to this day. Once established with Stevie, Rob quickly became known as a keyboard player, programmer & arranger. In addition to many albums and tours with Stevie, Rob’s credits also include work with a diverse group of artists including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Peter Frampton, J. Lo, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Weird Al Yankovic, and many others.
In 1990, Rob started Noisy Neighbors Productions with legendary engineer, Gary O, whose credits include Stevie’s ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’ and many other ground-breaking albums. Together with Gary, Rob has written and produced music and sound-design for hundreds of commercials (Nike, Coca Cola, Bally Total Fitness, Acura and yes, Hot Pockets) and movie trailers (Godzilla, Charlie’s Angels, Spiderman, Legend Of Zorro). They have done the music for too many TV promos to count (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, UPN, WB, VH1) and ‘behind the scenes’ and DVD special features for many films (Spiderman, Mr. Deeds, Underworld, Hellboy). In addition, they have also composed themes and underscores for numerous TV series and games and tackled many different kinds of specialty projects…like restoring and remixing Woodstock from the original masters for a 25th anniversary CD box set in 1994.
Though music composition and production is Rob’s main focus, he is also a much sought-after consultant and tester of emerging technologies in the audio industry. In his spare time, Rob…oh, wait…Rob has no spare time.
