headlining the night will be THE VEYGERS www. myspace. com/theveygers returning to headline the night after a cracking show back at the tailend of 2008. These boys have also taken a little break while they have been writing their ep and this will be their first gig this year. Should be a cracker.

I gots a bit lazy last week, so apologies for that..we had a brilliant night. Finally got hold of PAINTERMAN to come down and they were pretty good. no, they were fucking good!The gorgeously brilliant HARRIET ROCK also played, showing us all how big her lungs are with a superb set. THE CIRCUS SANDS also played, im in the band and dont really wanna blow my own trumpet...
This week, we possibly have the most EXCITING line up we have ever had down at the red lion!! Opening up the night will be electro upstarts ELLIOT TO HONG KONG. They played a few weeks back and the place was jumping..crowd sing-a-longs, crowd surfing the lot. Then after the bleeps, we have an ace new band all the way from london coming down called ENL. They won the metro newspaer unsigned band of the year 2008, so we all expect big things from these lot. Think Libertines with synths. Headlining the night and bringing everything to a messy head will be DIGBYS YARD. These boys are fast becoming our fave band, theyre always up for playing and always bring the house down! Liam also tells me he'll be wearing american football kit...

To celebrate, we are putting on a special gig this saturday 10th january with a plethora of local music talent!
Opening up the night will see the return of DUIT DOES GUITAR. Last time he played was amazing, as he was wasted before even playing and then got all his mates up on stage to help out. When hes not in the audience getting naked for you, hell be on stage getting naked for you. Next up, CORKY will be playing a few bluesy accoustic ditties, but probably wont get naked. Itll be great nonetheless. First live act of the night will see ELLIOT GOES TO HONG KONG make their Lavish Larry debut. They sent me their songs through the wonder of MSN before christmas and i really enjoyed 'em...Be sure not to miss them! OFF THE RADAR are the evenings headliners by special request of the management, cos they were proper good last time round.
We have got four bands on this week (may have already noticed that one) because we have a special one week only late license till 2am! so after the bands we'll have a few djs and the like! if anyone fancies it get in touch and we can have a open deck session.....

hope your all having a good week so far, i most certainly am! Just a quick thank you to everyone who came down last week, many people are saying very nice things about the night to me and other people and it does make it worth it when people enjoy as much as we do! OFF THE RADAR headlined last week and it was the first time id seen them in ages. They were every bit as good as I could remember. BULLER the songbird was ace as was the slightly shambolic DUIT DOES GUITAR.Getting all yer shitfaced mates up on stage with you and having a sing-a-long. brilliant.
This week is a kinda christmassy type party, weve got the three best bands in reading on so make sure you gets down here early enough to see them all. CIRCUS SANDS are opening up the night with their noises before DIGBYS YARD wreck the mics and the SOMEBODYS MIND bring the british voodoo to the stage. All three are capable of headlining so this should be a cracker of a gig....

last week we had two great bands, one we all knew about already but the other one kinda came out of the blue...
As always, CIRCUS SANDS were wicked but THE MARDIES strolled into the pub and really impressed a lot of people! Five girls that are gonna take reading by storm, im sure....
This week, SOMEBODYS MIND were billed but unfortunatley, had to pull out cos theyre off to see the zutons. Fear not, JACKALBUM have stepped up to the plate and will be filling their shoes. Cant wait. Supporting them will be a plethora of accoustic greatness, with LIAM OB, CORKY and TAYLOR all playing a few ditties for ya. Taylors also gonna spin some reggae tunes for everyone to dance to...

Alright guys...It was great to see loadsa people dressed up for the halloween party last week, my personal fave was king kong! The bands really made it though, BAILEY was as angry as i thought he would be, JACKALBUM really impressed me with their FULL line up, moody blues brilliance. THeres not a lot left to say about SOMEBODYS MIND, fucking brilliant and set closer 'dont go to thailland' 'blew us all away i think. Headliners KASIA also played a blindin' set, showing their much more rockier side. And to top it all off, we had a psychadelic clown rolling about on the stage showing us his 'lovely' moves. If he only had kept his pants on.....
This week we got two bands and the return of the British culture dj set. All girl band THE MARDIES will be opening up for us before the soon-to-be-kings THE CIRCUS SANDS take over for another rocking set. All of this will be segmented by Taylor on the ones and twos hitting us up with some pure ragga filth. It shouldnt work, but it does.
