Judging a contest is like walking through a mine field with the strong possibility of serious injury or death. While I can never reveal the secrets behind any decisions that were or were not made, it's hard to break a massive tie for the top spots, much less a select group of finalists and eventually an overall winner.

But the best part is secrecy, and plotting to kill anyone that runs their mouth and reveals things that were done behind closed doors. I'm waiting for these issues to surface, not that I'm going to be the first person to throw rocks and eliminate any blabbermouth. Not me. I'm a Frog of peace.

Besides, I don't throw rocks. I have real weapons.

I have a new solution for guarding the neighborhood from ranging mammals. I want to get a couple lizards called Komodo dragons. While they may eat a few children or pets, they certainly can reduce the population of coyotes, wolves, stupid people, and excess deer.

The world continues to go to heck in a handbasket, and the idiots are continuing to create more problems for us to live with.

In our area, like in many other eastern U.S. Cities, coyotes have become a major problem thanks to "animal activists". The radio and TV news here has daily accounts of problems with these invaders (which are not native to Ohio) which have migrated here from wherever they beasts originated from.

Aside from pets being killed and eaten, all manner of warnings abound now about keeping pets and children indoors, and generally hiding for our safety.

Now the "brains" in "charge" of the created crisis want to introduce gray wolves to the area to combat the coyotes. Personally, I think you might just go ahead and release lions and tigers too. Why not? Does it really make a difference what animal kills and eats you?

Fortunately there is the American spirit, and we strive to survive in spite of the idiots that managed to take charge. I think everyone is armed with firearms now just to take the family dog for a walk, not to mention blasting the wonderful man eaters away on sight. It's turning into the wild west here.

I just hope we survive until the next election. We need to make some corrections to get our country back.

You have some good ideas to adapt to the global changes, except you didn't take into consideration the "fact" that the oceans are rising. Based on my understanding of geography, the mountains in your area will be a series of islands, while most of my area of southern Ohio will be an extension of Lake Erie as it floods southward.

The now famous Balloon Boy has given me the idea to build my personal ark out of aluminum foil, balsa wood, and filling it with helium. When the waters rise, so will I - as Balloon Frog. Hopefully I will find land somewhere and survive, unless I crash into the Pacific Ocean in Missouri.

Al Gore created his Global climate change, so I am making my new global time changes. Effective immediately, so I have more time to do what I want, the following is taking place:

Each day is 50 hours long. Weeks are 8 days consisting of 4 work days and 4 weekend days. Winter will last 2 weeks which is enough for Christmas, New Years Day, and a snow storm. Summer will consist of 10 months. Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day will be 8 day weekends. My birthday will be once every 5 years. Currently the calendar year is 365.25 days long; we will round that out to an even 300.

Additional changes are in the making, and I'm open to your suggestions.

Why the President is surrounding himself with "czars" mystifies me based on the dictionary meaning of the word "czars". Additionally I question the experience and qualifications of these people to rule over the things to which they have received a coronation, and their political leanings are dubious if not even dangerous to a democratic republic.

Congress, as assembled, appears to garner record low public opinion and approval, and it will be interesting in the next election just how the voters will handle the situation. Corruption, ineptitude, and outright pomposity leads me to want to clean house of both parties and start over with independent candidates that do not have affiliation with either of the two major parties currently in power.

There are other issues, but these will get us started. Then we can clean up the White House and take back our country.

Thanks Rob! I had to think I wasn't alone in my thinking about "STEREOFAME". I don't have a beef with it, it's just not a serious venue for serious music guys. I'm glad you sought me out here, and you will be in my top 40 as well! Keep the faith and be the best you can be bro!

Now that we approach the "holiday" season wherein we can't say Christmas, I am reminded of something a former co-worker once told me.

He lived on the third floor of an apartment building, and a few years ago finished the "holiday" by removing the used "holiday" tree and taking it down the stairway to dispose of it.

He was a rather large and stout individual, and manhandling a 6' tall pine tree wouldn't normally have been an issue, but, he held it by the trunk and pushed it down the hall. By forcing the thing backwards, all the branches caught on the wall and fanned out.

Being determined, and fueled by a couple beers, he pushed the tree through the halls and stairwells and finally through the outside door.

The word was that he was fairly well cut up by the time the tree was outside, not to mention the halls and walls all needed to be repainted and there was other interior damage caused by the scraping tree.

From this I learned to pull the tree by the trunk, not push it by the trunk... and save the beer for later :)

Here we are in the last weekend of September, and we're in the same boat floating in a sea of cold water that I last complained about at the end of August.

It has been raining for 6 straight days, and here it is Friday and all plans are cancelled. Same for Saturday. Same for Sunday. Thankfully this was the last weekend where we were stupid enough to plan any outdoor events, so this summer is officially over even though it never really started.

I will now sink into a deep depression that will last continuously through the long winter as I wait for April.
Probably the only highlight will be in December when I venture back into the woods to locate a Charlie Brown type of Christmas tree to hang my one ornament on, just like last year.

The weather down here continues to be ugly. A local radio station runs an annual contest where participants guess how many days we will reach 100 degrees. Nobody won. We only had one day where it got as far as 90.

Here it is in August and I'm outside wearing a flannel shirt, long jeans and boots. Usually this time of year we are busy playing in swimming pools and sunning ourselves. Not this year.

I used to joke about the coming of the New Ice Age. Well, nevermind the joke part. I would add an appropriate smiley face or emoticon here, but I have none to suit the purpose at this time.

Keep the chainsaws well oiled and the axes sharp, and stack the firewood high.
