About me:

Hmm...Nemesis. A true natural paradigm. Aquarius with Leo rising, I feel constantly conflicted by the best and worst of both worlds. I am the ultimate social butterfly, can use any excuse to party, feel free-est when I am dancing, would "collect" stray animals if I could afford it, and really miss the peace that comes from looking into my daughter's eyes as I breastfed. Self-pronounced miracle worker, I was taught I can do anything, but I am learning to not be disappointed when I realize I am only human. Just recently, I am learning the blessings of true love, the irony of money or lack of it, the value of little miracles, and how to be true to myself through compromise. I am on an unconventional path of self-discovery, and self-forgiveness, and am looking forward to looking back on this description one day to see how far I actually got!

Interests

  • General

    I am extremely interested in the arts, sociology and culture, and I add more to the list as I grow day to day. My passions: my family, my friends, dance, music, theatre, fitness/health, drawing, writing, and food!

  • Music

    I tend to listen mostly to Latin Music (Salsa, Merengue, Bomba...), but really do have a little of everything (Symphonic, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Pop, 80's rock, techno, house, neo-soul, reggae...).

  • Movies

    Growing up I didn't watch a lot of movies, and it wasn't until recently that I have learned to appreciate a good movie. Thanks to my daughter, my best friend, and now my husband, I try to find time regularly to relax and actually go to the theatre, or invite lots of friends and make it an event!

  • Television

    Same thing! Hardly ever watch (don't even have cable), but got stuck on the Alias (back when...), Boston Legal, and the Discovery Channel :-). Oh!...and I can't remember that Medical intern show late night on Sundays...and some episodes of Friends, Sex in the City, and 24. Whew! That was hard!

  • Books

    Well...I exchanged novels for text books a long time ago...and then life has kept me busy reading things pertinent to the business and parenting. Nonetheless, my favorite authors are Gabriel Garcia Marques, Isabel Allende, Julia de Burgos, and other latinos. I don't know many american authors as I grew up in PR, but am looking forward to that time when my life will slow down enough to indulge in some classics.

  • Heroes

    Mama Luisa (my great-grandmother), my Mom, my daughter, and some other people that I don't want to mention because they might be reading, and it's the little things they do that inspire me :-)
