Just as powerful as a Ten Ton Truck, yet as darkly seductive as the David Lynch character, Norwegian hard rock/metal band Audrey Horne took hard rock up one level when they in 2005 released their explosive debut album “No Hay Banda” (Tuba/Dobjob).
K.I.N.G, Ice Dale, Toschie, Thomas, Herbrand and Kjetil from the Metal capitol Bergen, Norway started playing together in between touring with their original bands like infamous metal acts Enslaved and Gorgoroth.
Audrey Horne releases hard rock with the addition of keys to create a big and overwhelming wall of sound similar to the likes of Faith No More, Tool and Alice In Chains. Their debut album “No Hay Banda” was mixed in USA by world famous producer Joe Barresi, who took time out to work with Audrey Horne in between major rock bands like Queens Of The Stone Age and Tool. The result was a fantastic, powerful and well produced hard rock album, which received massive attention both in Norway, UK and continental Europe. “No Hay Banda” and the first radio single “Confessions and Alcohol” got straight into the Norwegian Billboard charts, and the reviews were positively mind blowing internationally and domestic- both from mainstream and metal press.
After loads of TV, radio, live gigs and festivals, Audrey Horne got nominated for two Spellemannspriser – Norwegian Grammy, for Best Metal Act and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. They won Best Metal Act by a mile, and donated the award to their local rock bar in their hometown of Bergen, where it all started. Audrey Horne was the first metal band in Norwegian music history nominated for more then one award.
After releasing “No Hay Banda”, the band felt it was time to part with Tuba, and signed a record deal with Indie Recordings, the label of Norway's leading metal distributor Indie Distribution.
27th of August 2007 was the Norwegian release date for Audrey Horne's second album “Le Fol” (Indie Recordings/Indie Distribution). After parting ways with the keyboardist Herbrand and bass player K.I.N.G when they wanted to focus on their other bands Enslaved and Gorgoroth, the quartet chose to record their new album in Norway with Ice Dale as producer, and the result; “Le Fol” is a more direct and dynamic album, but it's still their massive wall of sound that proves that they are one of Norway's best bands. This album as well went straight into the Norwegian Billboard charts.
The reviews have been even better then on their first album, and they received an Alarm award nomination 2007 for Best Metal Act (Alternative Spellemann), and yet another Spellemann nomination for Best Metal Act 2007!
