It’s 2009 and FOUND have returned with an extended player full of renewed energy and pluck. With their new record ‘The Fidelities EP“ FOUND have traded in the campfire electronica sound of their previous two albums and forged a tougher din, full of clenched drums, dusty synths, strident electric guitar and boisterous vocals. Their new direction could be a reaction to 2008, a year dogged with bad luck: a year which on two separate occasions saw different band members hospitalised in intensive care with pneumonia – a year in which FOUND ‘misplaced’ some custom musical equipment in Hamburg – and let’s not mention the chipped teeth.

Stool Pigeon was originally recorded in 1978 for their “lost” debut album. This version has been re-recorded recently alongwith all the tracks from the “lost” album, and released as 1978 NOW on the Overground label. The mix of VELVET UNDERGOUND guitars with NORTHERN SOUL beats gives this track a unique style.

Discord is an avant-techno version of the Fire Engines song, which features Fire Engines' drummer Russell Burn on drums and cowbell.
Finsbury Park samples and holds random notes and foundsound from 1983. These are twisted and torn to form a brand new thrill.

documents a genuine piece of “instant composing” featuring a live jam across the telephone exchange, Sushil K Dade performs on acoustic guitar in Glasgow whilst Damo Suzuki (Can) listens to the chords ”down the line” from Cologne HQ and responds with his hauntingly poignant, crackly telephone vocals.
