Augmen+ed had its roots in a band that was created for a school talent show. Dan Ricker, Matt Annunziata, and another member, Dan Rauchwerk, were the best act at the show, and their immense success gave them the initiative to start a permanent band in April of 2003. They recruited Mike Simpson to drums, and became very successful after rehearsing for a year or so. In December 2004, however, escalating tensions between the four peaked and Dan Rauchwerk left the band. The three remaining members, Dan, Matt, and Mike, decided to keep the band as a trio, and now Dan would sing. His new approach to singing surprised everyone and the band has really kicked it off since then. With a sound many describe as "very different" and "f***ing awesome," these guys bring jazz and blues to new heights in rock music, with no guitars and a bass so distorted it makes speakers implode and babes scream (for more). Augmen+ed was probably best described by a club owner when he said, "These guys got soul!"
