BIOGRAPHY
Mindless passion and rage, sarcasm and contradiction form just some of the literal influence behind August House upcoming release, "Excuse me for Living.”
Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s in Colorado idolizing the grunge music scene and rock icons of their generation like Nirvana, Oasis and Green Day visible parallels are drawn through August House volatility and nonchalant demeanor.
Their first self-produced EP entitled "Tabla Rasa" and follow up 2006 EP "Appraisal", are both raw, angst filled alternative rock while "Excuse me for Living" shows their emotional growth with ballads such as "Dizzy Lines" and "Breakaway."
In 2007 August House embarked on a 45-city US Tour alongside the band VAST. Over the past 3 years the band has played shows and major festivals along side After Midnight Project, One Republic, Army of Me, Coheed and Cambria, Nine Inch Nails, Avenged Sevenfold and Rob Zombie. While touring they have played such notable venues as the Knitting Factory in both NYC and Los Angeles, The Roxy of Hollywood, SXSW 2007, The Gothic Theatre of Denver, CO, Slim's of San Francisco, and The Troubadour of Hollywood, CA.
In addition to playing some of the the top venues in the nation August House has also received radio play in major marketing including Arizona, Colorado and California with over 4,000 CDs sold nationwide and over 200,000 hits on their MySpace page to date.
