“Somehow I escaped the Cajun accent, but Louisiana will always be in my heart. And I can't live long without a good bowl of gumbo.”
Jon picked up his first guitar at age 17 and immediately started writing music. He was inspired by a diverse range of musicians, from Stevie Ray Vaughn to the Misfits and Nirvana. And of course the music of Louisiana and New Orleans. His also worked at several local radio stations, including KSLU and WZRH (formerly “The Zephyr”).
After touring the Southeast with regionally acclaimed rock bands, Jon left the spotlight to focus on songwriting. “Going solo allowed me the opportunity to focus on songs I'd been writing in my bedroom for years.”
Jon performs in southern Louisiana. He also work as a freelance graphic artist and web designer, check out his blog at www.jonhebert.com.
I had a dream, where an amazingly beautiful girl from my distant past left me a note... it said she thought I was amazing, and that she valued her friendship with me greatly. Yeah, it was some kind of chain letter, the kind of thing that I usually read and say pssshaw. But somehow today it hit me as such a nice thought she had when selecting me among her friends to be sweet to. And so here is my reponse to her, as well as an invitation to you to pass on a similar good wish to 7 people (including me) if you're feeling the love today.
You ROCK Jon Hebert! Thanks so much for being our friend and for taking time to check out our music! We appreciate your support!! Please keep in touch. <>>> oddSTAR Next show:: Saturday March 7th SOMEWHERE ELSE TAVERN 5713 W. Friendly Ave Greensboro, NC with F1LTH ON D3MAND and Wounded Soul
Let's get on it. We can play at The Bird House. We can reprise the same line-up as Root Bar #1......just do it underground with time to lure people.... charge a cheap cover and have a mini-keg.
And we need to get a show somewhere new....Ruby's Tap House maybe? or perhaps Ed Boudreaux (at least for you, I think that would be grand).... give me a call!
HI August, how are you. Sorry to miss you on the 4th, but I had a show of my own that night. HOpe it went well. I'm playing at Ed Boudreaux Friday night the 11th if you are out and about-stop and say hi be well.. john
Psyched to perform with you at the Root Bar on April 4....... we'll have to devise some collaborations..........maybe we can even write a song or two together and debut them then?.....
Hey back and great to meet you! Thanks for coming out...it was really a great night and we're glad you were there! We'll look to see you 2 steppin soon!
You were really good at the Dripolator last night. Thank you for being so complementary of my work as well--you have a calm poise that is quite compelling. Somehow, it was Billy Corgan-like to me.........
And that would be like an enormous, cosimic pat on the back AUGUST
My new friend I cant say I remember you. We went to school at St Amant High. I graduated in 93 and you? Man your music is cool. Goodluck to you in your future seems very bright.
