Sounds Like
The 'Aumakua or family guardian has taken shape of a record label to protect the musicial talents of all genres who are inspired by the 'Aina we all love and share in the Hawaiian Islands. All things that start pono, end pono.
Simple.
'Aumakua Records was formed with the purpose of helping the artists of Hawai'i get an artist friendly record deal. Currently we are working on 4 albums slated for release over the next 5 months. Also in the works is the 'Aumakua Music Project, a division of the non-profit organization The Forward Foundation. All proceeds and donations raised by the 'Aumakua Music Project will go directly to promoting our current artists and nurturing, developing and recording new artists from Hawai'i in all genre. The support of the 'Aumakua Music Project to 'Aumakua artists means the recoupable costs usually tagged to an artist in a major label deal, like production and recording, do not exist. This gives the artist flexibility with the music they create and record and should rightfully own from the start and ideally, a better income from it. In conjunction with 'Aumakua Records, the 'Aumakua Music Project builds an ideal synergy to further propagate the beautiful music of Hawai'i by teaching the keiki of Hawai'i. We are clearly aware of the failing music programs in our schools and that most keiki only get formal music education if either their parents can afford the cost or a relative in the family plays. Slowly fading are the days of the back yard kanikapila leaving little left for the keiki. Knowing we cannot support artists if they do not exist, the 'Aumakua Music Project will facilitate opportunities, host free workshops with ‘Aumakua artists and award scholarships for the musical keiki of Hawai’i to have a place to further their musical talents. Our dream is real and our mission constantly renewed by this beautiful saying, "Don't be afraid to reach for the stars, because the sky is filled with music”. We invite you to share our dream. Malama Pono.

Mahalo for finding me! I think what you are doing is amazing- it is not easy running non-profit and I support your cause! Being somewhat of a musician myself and seeing friends go through the process of trying to find a label, I know how hard things can be! You have my support!
