My name is Deborah Olsen, and I have been photographing for about six years now. I got my first 'real' camera a few years ago and no one has been safe since. I have been officially dubbed "The Paparazzi" by members of my family. I love taking candid shots because I think they tell the true story taking place rather than a posed photo, which tells you want that subject wants to you see.
Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, "Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again." I cannot agree more. I learned this all too quickly with the birth of my daughter Isabella 5 years ago. Too soon she was not a baby anymore, and I would have no remembrance of that had I not photographed every move she made.
I again realized that people change and grow faster than we want when my niece graduated high school and went on to college. She has been the subject of many of my photographs and has been my inspiration on many an occasion. Photos are priceless. Our mind may not recall moments in our lives years or even weeks from now, but a photo will remind us of the important people and events in our lives forever.
Although an amateur still (I don't believe you EVER stop learning where photography is concerned so I don't know if I'd ever consider myself a professional), I have created many photographs that I am quite proud of, and love to do it so my services are now available to anyone interested. I would love an opportunity to capture special moments in your life. My prices for prints are very reasonable and location fees vary depending on your proximity to Galveston Island, but I am willing to travel. I currently only do outdoor photography, event photography or I can do photographs in the comfort of your home or garden. I have done sports/action photos as well and you can find examples of all under my pics or in the slideshows on this page. I find the photos I've done of families in their own habitat can be very personal and capture much more of that person's personality than a simple stock background so many studios produce. However, in the future I will offer this service as well. Keep checking back with me for more information on that. Some of the types of photography I have created are:
*Babies and children (also close up shots such as baby's hand in your hand, baby feet, etc)
*Vacation photos-if you're here on vacation in Galveston, get some nice shots taken at local spots, they can be mailed back to your home!
*Action, ie sports, bicycle stunts, swimming
*Holiday
*Family,siblings
*Beach portraits
*Pets (bring your own props, we'll try to pose your pooch any way you like!)

I also do DVD slideshow presentations from your own digital photos using your choice of music. I can do these from any event, birthday, wedding, reunion, sports banquets, memorial services, etc.
Location fees vary so please email for rates. I have reasonable rates and during specific times during the year I'll run reduced rates so check my page throughout the year. For pricing on prints, please email me. I can do anything from a simple 4x6 print up to 10x12 or larger, canvas prints, stauettes, trading cards, tickets, magazine covers, and more.

Well summer is the time to sell if you are going to. We moved back to the Clear Lake area a few weeks ago. thank the Lord it finally happened. I have taken 7 listings in 2 weeks which is pretty good for a girl who is not trying that hard. My goal was to move back into this old rental we have and get it fixed up while working yet all I have been doing is working. A good problem to have. Let me know if you need any comps or anything to help you with your dilemma. I change my mind all the time as well. we are woman so we have a right. I still need to get some pics done soon now that we are here but I need some hair refreshing first. I never knew you go go all grey at this age but it is happening. I am glad to hear from you. I get worried and was just looking at some of your cool pictures the other day.
Now is not the time to sell a home although most agents would never say that. Galveston has a good market yet it will get better since the mortgage crisis has screwed everyone. How long have you owned the home. Nver sell in less then 5 years unless you absolutly have to or if you paid cash.
I am so stressed but it will be all worth it. I was worried about you but it sounds like its just life with kids. Our are still little but I anticipate we will be super busy once they start activities like dance and T-Ball. I can't wait. Don't you guys go to Carolyn's. I went there when I was little. Well I better run. Glad to hear you are ok. As far as SA I would just do like you already planned. We love Seaworld and a ton of places are great on the River Walk. We have just basically stuck to our little home out here in Bulverde so all we have ever done in SA is visit the tourist spots which are great.
I just thought I would say a quick hi. I put some advertising up for you on Activerain today. I hope I get some great feedback. I used the photo with the wind surfer. My hubby and family are all moving PERMANANTLY home in March. I can't wait. We should do lucnh. I never heard about Treasure Ball. Hope she looked beautiful.
Just saying a quick hello. I hope you had a great holiday. I totally forgot about the treasure ball fundraiser. I feel awful. How did she do? I think we got 4th or 5th the year I participated.
Thankfully we all survived the first week. Now we get a long holiday weekend. I still have to get the number and email up this weekend. My husband is going out of town tomorrow so I am sure we will get a lot done then. My house looks like a train wreck. Nothing new with 2 kids. I wish I was one of those wonder women moms but it gets hard working from home.
