About me: My name is Shawn & I'm 35 years old. I was born in Detroit & grew up in Port Huron. I went to Michigan State University. I have 1 brother named Chad & he is currently attending the University of Michigan with my sister-in-law Heather. I have 2 dogs, a golden retriever named Katie & a jack russell/schnauzer mix named Stevie (who I named after my hockey idol Stevie Yzerman). I have 1 niece & 1 nephew. Mackenzie (8) & Max (almost 3 months). I love watching hockey, NASCAR, MSU football, MSU hockey & MSU basketball. I am a huge Detroit Red Wings fan. I also like the Detroit Tigers. I love going to Joe Louis Arena, Comerica Park & MIS. I like to go bike riding, boating, camping, swimming & ice skating. I also like photography & scrapbooking. I used to play softball & volleyball in school. I've had both of my hips replaced but I don't let that slow me down, I feel the best I've felt in a long time. I love to travel & I think my favorite vacation is any time I can go to Disney World. I'd like to go on another Disney cruise someday. I drive a PT Cruiser & I absolutely love my car.
Sorry I've not been leaving comments lately. I've been so busy I can't even think straight. A lot of family stuff going on and a new grand daughter, my baby (he'd just hate knowing I said that, lol) just graduated high school the end of May and we're getting him ready for college. Hoefully now I'll be able to get back in the swing of things. I've also been on Twitter some. If anyone has Twitter, follow me and I'll follow you back. LOL...
I received a phone call last night from a friend struggling
with this weekend of sadness and loss.
It inspired me to remind her that those family and friends would want us
to celebrate their memories of good times shared.
This week is also for those that we never had the privilege
to know but through their selfless giving have changed our world… Our heroes in
sport and life. So raise your glasses
and remember this weekend is not about sadness but good memories, thankfulness
and pride for friends, family, heroes and the men ‘n women who stand on that
wall for us…
