Band from Mexicali, B.C. Mexico, born in 1996.We come across Aurals origins back in 96, after Fieles Difuntos (Ernesto Vivos avant pop band from Mexicali, Mexico) split up. In that same year, Karla Garduno joins the band as the lead singer. It is in those days that Aurals first songs see the light. In 1997 a new member, Alberto Heredia (drums) enters the band, fitting quickly into its sound, adding new ideas and improving the general creative process as a quartet. The room where Aural used to rehearse at Karlas home, worked as a sort of collective refugee during early 1997. Most themes from the first production were composed and arrenged out there. The bands name arrives as a result of the course their compositions were moving along, as well as the musical influences, that Aurals four members were asimilating, ranging from rock, pop, jazz and minimalism, to contemporary avant-garde groups from British label 4AD. Throughout 2002 Aural experienced a transition, Carlos Urrea took the guitar over in September. Aural, English word related to hearing, also makes reference to the way its member got together, -each one coming from a different city- yet sharing the same musical idea when it comes to create music everyone having an identical creative aura.
