The rock group Aurinko was founded in late 2006 after Matti, Valtteri, Ville, and Jussi had decided to disband their former band Mainstream (1999-2006) and start anew with another name and a new singer. With this new singer, Petra, they play fabulous live shows all over the town and also record a pile of songs for their smashing debut album. The album, titled "Pieni ilmestyskirja", is released in July 2008.
Aurinko perustetaan Mainstream-yhtyeen raunioille vuoden 2006 loppupuolella. Mainstream vaikutti vuosina 1999-2006 vaihtelevalla aktiivisuudella ja vaihtuvalla jäsenistöllä, ja sen viimeiseksi jääneessä kokoonpanossa soittaneet Matti (kitara), Ville (kitara), Valtteri (basso) ja Jussi (rummut) jatkavat myös Auringossa samoissa hommissa. Laulajan tehtäviin löydetään kuitenkin uusi tuttavuus, Petra. Kokoonpano heittää railakkaita rokkikeikkoja ympäri pääkaupunkiseutua, ja ensimmäinen pitkäsoittokin ilmestyy heinäkuussa 2008.
