Aurora Orchestra was founded in 2004 with the aim of bringing together some of London’s most exciting young soloists in a virtuosic and versatile ensemble.
Formed from a core of 15 principal players, and its Principal Conductor Nicholas Collon, Aurora combines a string quintet with a wind quintet, brass soloists, percussion and keyboard.
It has since developed an enviable reputation for innovative cross-arts collaborations and bold programming.
'It's been a remarkable success story. Founded just a little over three years ago, Aurora Orchesta has already reached the threshold of big-name status.' (Metro, January 2008)
Concerts in the 2009 season include appearances in the BBC Proms, Aldeburgh Festival, Wigmore Hall, Spitalfields Festival, Sounds New Festival, LSO St Luke’s, King’s Place, and Cadogan Hall.
'edgy, adventurous, elite....the future of music' – Evening Standard (January 2008)
