Critical Views from a Critical Few: Aurore Press Takes on Religion with godLESS July 25 Pub Date: July 25, 2009
Our latest project is a chapbook we call godLESS, a critical view of religion. Tough subject, especially in this town, but it has to be said. The book, edited by Chuck Byrd, Mary Anne Cowgill and Betsy Young will feature pieces by Jughead, Mark Messerly, Nathan Singer, Abiyah, Neil Aquino, Jacurutu:3, Justin Patrick Moore, and many more, 21 varied works in all. Plus this fantastic cover art by Amy Kreitzer.
Coinciding with the release will be a spoken performances scheduled for July 25 at The Comet in Northside, 4579 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45223. True to our usual style, we'll also be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Free Inquiry Group of Great Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
Stories for Shorty: A Collection of Recollections from the Jockey Club 1982-88 Pub Date: November 22, 2008
The idea came to us in a fever dream after Bryce Rhude initially sparked our collective sentimentality and (vague) recollections of our very own days within the hallowed halls of the smoked-filled, beer-stained infamous Jockey Club of Newport, Kentucky on a Web site and MySpace page.
It proved to us that 20 years after the demolition of the legendary nightclub, a forum is overdue for the cast of characters who made up the JC “scene”. So Aurore Press has decided to step up with a rousing cheer and announce that our second book release will pay tribute to the late and great Jockey Club heyday of the 1980s!
Stories for Shorty: A Collection of Recollections from the Jockey Club 1982-88 dedicated to The Jockey Club of the 1980s, specifically between 1982-1988. The book was released November 22, 2008.

That Jockey Club book is a beautiful thing! Never had the chance to go to the club, but after listening to all those memories from my lovely wife and others I've known over the years, I feel a special kinship to it all. You guys have offered something that many, myself included, have been waiting for. A worthy thing- you should be proud of yourselves!
