AUSAM-Con
AUSAM-Con is a one day anime festival presented by volunteers from the student organization: Auburn University Society of Anime and Manga (AUSAM). Pretty simple, eh? This event, planned for January 12th, will start at 9 a.m. and run until 10 p.m. A variety of different rooms with allow guests to view various examples of anime genre.
Admittance will be free; however, since we’d like to make this an annual event, donations will be taken for fund raising. Tentative plans for donators will allow them access to a “VIP lounge” that will include free t-shirts, food, a raffle, previews of manga, AMVs, and special series showings.
For regular guests, AUSAM-Con will provide showings of a variety of anime series, anime movies, as well as a live-action movie or two, thrown in to mix things up. Interactive fun is also being planned, including tentative plans for "voice acting” karaoke.
The AUSAM-Con staff is excited about this coming festival, and we would love to hear from you. We welcome everyone to come participate in anime banter on the forums included on this site; and maybe even suggest some things you’d like to see at AUSAM-Con. We created this concept with the hope that we could share our love for anime and manga with everyone else; and show that anime isn’t just made up of the stereotypes of Pokemon and Dragonball Z.
