ABOUT OUR ORIGINAL MUSIC... We are a FLEX-Duo... its always Brad and myself, and could be one of a few configurations (duo, trio, quartet), depending on the gig. I write, arrange, sing and play everything... Brad makes it beautiful with guitar and pedal steel!!!! We've been described as having a "hypnotic groove", with a "surprising quiet intensity", "beauty with grit". Ultimately, our purpose is to serve the song... where space is JUST as important as the notes; where loudness is a dynamic of energy NOT a rule of sound...and much more!
Others in the mix: Dan Eubanks (who still joins us every now and then), Eric Grossman,
R. Scott Bryan, Micah Johnson, Marc Torlina, Steve Cakouros, Carl Glad and J. Christopher Hughes, Jamie Albanese, John Albanese and Andy Marks. What an honor!!!
Our first self-titled EP was released in 2006 and sold out within the first year. Having a constant full plate, stretched finances and a closer listen to the EP, we've been a bit slow and slack about getting more in stock. With slight remix/remastering adjustments, we expect to be restocked within the next month. Other than that... we are back in record mode. Yep, making a full 9-song album with some AMAZING players. More on that soon...
Regarding Myspace: Please note, I love having this tool to help keep us all connected, but I am NOT a superficial friend collector, nor do I have desire to be part of a collection. I try to keep it as real as possible out here in space.... just sayin'. Thanks for connecting!
My pleasure, Auset! I won't be gracing eye-ay-see with my noise and my charming sense of humor much, if at all, anymore, so I'm really happy to still have a way to connect with the handful of gems I've met there.
You beat me to it, I was going to thank you for being a part of everything. Everyone really enjoyed your music and it was so nice to see you again. That's funny you should say that, it's been my catch phrase for the last couple of days, "it is what it is." All you can do is try your best and see what happens from there, and that's what we did...we let Kenny know we care about him. It was a positive experience. Thanks again, and I hope you can make it out Saturday if you're staying in the hood. :)
And thank you guys for being awesome to us! I got the CD - I should make copies and give them to which folks? That'll be cool. And we can't wait to hear Brad's silvery liquid steel on Big Smith songs!
Hello Auset Two new tracks in our player ("swell" and "doledrum") , from our next album available on Deadbees Records at the end of the year. Come lend an ear if you'd like. Thanks. Y
thank you so much. that means a lot as we absolutely love your sound. Check us out again sometime soon. We will do the same. Lookin forward to more Auset in our lives.
I'm doing well thanks, having a great summer. How about you guys, are you playing a lot? We'll have to get together again....I'll watch for your schedule. Seeya.
yeah, i guess it's #3, i dumped the first one, did another but none of my stuff is on there, so i put another to try to get on this writer's night in town. I know, kinda dumb. Well, looking forward to working on your material again, just holler...love to your brood..
