Shane Walters has grown up on the stages around Melbourne, cutting his teeth on the open mic platforms from the age of 18. Over time developing his art, and craft as a singer/songwriter. ***** For a mostly solo artist, Shane has strived to develop a live sound with as much presence as possible, without compromising the intricacies and space for notes to breathe.***** Once you scratch the surfaces and hear the underlying lyrics and messages within his songs, you’ll begin to understand Shane’s stable balance of music and poetry.***** Within his performance Shane can swap between an electric & acoustic lapslide, bottleneck acoustic slide guitar, a standard acoustic used for chords and mellower tunes, harmonica, a 12string acoustic lapslide, a resonator Regal lapslide and Djembe.***** Shane's music and writing style varies from peaceful rhythms, 'jazzy' finger-picking, with lots of alternate tunings and delicate slide. His lyrical inspiration comes from the surrounding world, and lifes splendors and tribulations***** Shane has recorded and released 2 Eps over the last few years; “Faces” in 2006, & “Live on PBSfm” recorded in Studio 5 in 2007. *****
Since then his been touring, recording and promoting his music in Australia and are the world. Back in 2007 Shane embarked on a 7-month solo promotional tour of North America. Playing shows in British Columbia, New York City, Toronto, Montreal and California. Travelling city by city, with 2 guitars and a bag. ***** Right now Shane’s independently recording, producing and mixing his much-anticipated full-length debut album “Box of Birds”. Having recorded the drums in July 09, and will be heading in and out of studio recording the other instrumentations over the coming months. The Album will be due for release in Late October 2009, and will be available online for you convenience. Finally after many hurdles and line-up changes the album in underway and is sounding like it should.
