cocaine disaster theme song I
there's a sound that's very popular at the moment. happily, we sound nothing like it. fuck you money. fuck you derivatives. fuck you radio (commercial radio! jesus, calm down already!) and all the wrong reasons. hello music for beauty. hello music for release. hello music because we simply have to.

this band... this thing that makes the songs was birthed in some form or other in detroit suburbs in 1996. the group consists of two rythmic and melodic voices (one of those being the drums and the other, bass guitar) and one plain old voice. upon reconvening in seattle in 2008, after a 3 year hibernation, we are feeling like our(old)selves again--and that's a good thing! joe horniceck (w-vibe, vent) played drums on the first album, and kelly mynes (bone cave ballet, panther attack! showshane, vent, HMT) plays on the latter albums. ~ ~ ~
The Art of The Mix, Seattle music blog, had this to say about one of our recent shows:
"Blown away by austenitic from Seattle. Just drums and bass, but not "drums and bass." Rather, explosive drummer outta control. Singer fired up. Songs were amped, complicated, melodic, frenetic. Husker Du sticker on the bassist's amp, appropriate, as there was definitely an SST invocation, like Mike Watt and George Hurley on speed, 16th notes, 32nd notes, and overall non-stop." ~ ~ ~
watch the first 2 1/2 minutes of this then rejoice, thinking... "mine is the one true religion, and everyone else in the whole world must be wrong"

Shuvv the bass in yo' ass!! is that a new tune? ahaha
I wrote to you a couple months back and you never responded, so i thought you were mad at me! but really, i'm doing well and am away at college (California Institute of the Arts) studying music and missing home and playing with the band... that girl is the girl i plan on marrying in the next couple years. We've been dating off and on for three years now. What's new for you, bands? basses? business?, girls?, Life in general...
Boy you so craaaazy! Yeah I'm still pretty cool. Haha. So I've been on facebook. I bet you never go there? RIght? Adam and I might be moving to San Fran in the next 1-2 yrs. What are you doing? How's the band?
You guys are all a bunch of fucking atheist assholes--actually there's only two of you, so I hope you both die soon and go to hell. Get a guitar player like a real band. You suck!!! Shove your dumb yellow bass up your ass.
No apology required. I should have made my ass go out to the left coast to shoot the shit and get some sunshine, rain, and mountain snow. Keep ROcking!
Hey Ross! You are in Seattle now? We were just there. I thought you were just ignoring me everytime we toured to Los Angeles! Next time I'm out there, i will let you know, glad to see yer still playing and wrriting....
Well, X-Ray-Press sure did come through SD. And what do you know, we were on the bill! At the same venue (soda bar) with all the p-tutez.
Fucking killer band. Ross, you were totally right. I love these guys. I've got to come up to Sea-town when there's an Austenitic, Panther Attack, X-Ray-Press lineup. that is of course if i have a place to stay. Hint hint, nudge nudge Take it easy bud, Henry
Yo kelly, i've been in hawaii for the last week and just thought i'd tell you: the prostitutes there are to die for. i just threw my wallet at them and my dingy got super wet!
i love y'all. Ross, i hope our paths cross soon, wherever that may be....
we dig you guys too! swims hit us up about you guys, too bad we couldn't get you on that july 17th bill-- we're not setting it up and it's already 5 bands... we tried anyways though! great stuff, hope to catch you guys later.
