The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill. What more can I say, a great night for music and film, with the odd star thrown in. Come show your support.

Haven't seen Sunshine or Once yet, though I want to. Being in the guild I saw most everything else. WHAT A FUCKING GOOD YEAR!!! Here's a top ten, but much of the order is moveable.

1. Assassination of Jesse James...
2. I'm Not There
3. Into the Wild
4. Gone Baby Gone
5. There Will Be Blood
6. Juno
7. No Country for Old Men
8. Diving Bell and the Butterfly
9. Michael Clayton
10. Eastern Promises
11. Sweeney Todd

But there are so many more I would choose too. Grindhouse was one of the best times in a theater I have ever had. Superbad and Knocked Up are really fun and well done. 3:10 to Yuma may actually make me like James Mangold. Bourne Ultimatium is thrilling beyond all belief. Darjeeling Limited was fun. Not to mention Sicko and No End in Sight were both amazing docs with lots behind them. The score for Atonement was ONE OF THE BEST EVER and so experimental, and I really thought the movie was excellent too. Fast and big all at once, which is a rare find. Hot Fuzz was a killer spoof that I know I will make me laugh almost every time. Harry Potter Five was right there with part Three as a favorite of the series. Margot at the Wedding was a bit heavy with characters to flawed to really like, but overall really dug in. The Kingdom has a muddled message, but the editing of the action was as intense as anything I've ever seen. And Enchanted and Ratatouille were both heartwarming good fun. Plus Amy Adams is rising to easily be one of my favorites, and the chipmunk in Enchanted nearly made me piss myself in one scene. Best year for movies since 1999 in my opinion. Might have even been better.

Happy V-day to you as well mi amigo. And I will certainly check out the track once I'm able to download at home.

How's the life these days? You see Assassination of Jesse James. My favorite, and I think you will fall in love with it too.
