“Your story through my lens.”
I created the show in 1998 as a way to meet people. It did not take long before it evolved from a show displaying people in Austin’s night life into a show about Austinites - ‘telling their stories in their own words.’ Soon I was meeting people from all walks of life.
I decided the show was kind of unique, so it needed a name that encompassed my show idea. Eureka! I created and trademarked the name - AUSTINIGHTS®. That was the basic premise of the show - then and now.
After four years (1998-2002) on public access television, I decided to bring AUSTINIGHTS® TV to a different audience by airing it on KNVA (Austin’s WB) in 2002. After three very busy seasons (26 episodes/per season), I was definitely in need of a break. The wonderful thing - I had met so many awesome people, who opened their world to my camera and shared it with a viewing audience.
After a couple years, my record/editing button finger starting to “twitch” and it was time to revive the show. But, with new technology and people watching online more than ever, I decided to take a leap of faith and produce the show online and bypass traditional late night television.
So, here we are in the Fall of 2007 with the launch of a new media format for AUSTINIGHTS® TV. We have a new crew of hosts, but the same familiar theme -'Austinites telling their stories in their own words.'
So, as the Producer and Creator of AUSTINIGHTS® TV, I want to welcome you to our all new show and hope that you will tell others about us. And, most of all, I hope that you will maybe share your story through my lens. You’re watching AUSTINIGHTS®!
