We have a couple of Journalism and Photography students that have volunteered their time to write stories and take pictures of local Austin bands. If you have a band, are a member of one or are a Manager of one that might be interested in some free words and photos then write me directly at: info@austinmusicsociety.org and put in the subject line the name of the band and that you are interested in having one of our volunteers write or take pictures for you.
The only requirement with the stories and images is to give proper writer/photographer credit when placing on a website or other print type media. The Writers and Photographers retain the right to use their stories and/or images for their portfolios. Model releases for photographs will be required. You will receive the finished story or photographs on a disc and you have free use of it's contents.
This is a great way for musicians/bands to get professionally written content and usable images free that can be used to enhance a website, be included in merch or print media.
Journalists all write using Microsoft Word and save in the related format.
Each photographer shoots in RAW format with Nikon Digital SLR cameras. All images will be given to the musician/band on a CD/DVD and will be burned as JPEG and TIFF formats.
