AUSTIN PERALTA
Austin Peralta is a composer and pianist working primarily as a jazz musician in New York, Los Angeles, and often throughout the world. His life is defined by, immersed in, and obsessed with music. In addition to his passion for jazz music, he studies and performs Classical music avidly, and can be found working in many different musical settings and genres including electronica, hip-hop, R&B, avant-garde, and rock.
Signed by Sony Music Japan at the age of fifteen, Austin has recorded two albums as the leader of groups that include jazz luminaries Ron Carter, Billy Kilson, Buster Williams, Steve Nelson, and Marcus Strickland. He has toured throughout Japan and Europe, and has performed with Adam Rudolph's Go: Organic Orchestra, and with singer Dwight Trible. At the Tokyo Jazz Festival, Austin was part of a "dream team" piano quartet that included the legendary Chick Corea, Hank Jones, and Hiromi Uehara, and he has been blessed with the opportunity to study with noted mentors Alan Pasqua, Buddy Collette, Ralph M. Jones III, Reggie Workman, Edward Simon, Aaron Parks, and Kenny Cox.
Now 19, and at the threshold of a life consumed with musical pursuits, Austin continues his musical studies in New York City at the New School for Music. His third album, a self-produced project, will be released on the Brainfeeder label in December, 2009.
We are happy to see a good year go towards a good end. Again we will be playing our Christmas Show in the Moscow Megasphere - and that really makes us happy. The Moscow crowd is one of the best in the world and we would love to have you all with is. It's gonna be one hell of a rock party!
