Contrary to popular belief Australians are not as apathetic as we're told by the popular and mainstream media. In fact I think Australians are growing more and more aware of politics and their power to have their say. And they're doing it through blogs, YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, and via email and SMS.
Why create Australian Politics TV?
For a long time I've used the Internet for online political activism and activity, including organizing and coordinating such things through the Internet.
During the last couple of federal elections I surfed YouTube daily in search of Australian political videos only having to battle through US and European content. Even now with the specific Australia site it still takes time to trawl through the pages of content that may or may not have any relevance to Australia.
Greetings from Texas. Passing through to say welcome to my friend space and thank you very much for the friend add. I really enjoyed your page…Hot topics and blogs!!
PLEASE check out the Ladies Anthem "Don't Say Anything" and “Hallway Blues” by Neici The Southern Songbird. The music is deterring Domestic Violence and is building young girls Self-Esteem Worldwide.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU WOULD PLEASE SHARE THE MUSIC WITH ALL THE LADIES!
With an ever growing number of people becoming unemployed, or "Job Snobs" as the Liberal Party like to call us, now's a better time than ever to come take a look at our site, www. centreflunk. com to arm yourself with enough info to help you get thru Centrelink's red tape. We also run a chatroom, www. CentreChat. com where you can Share Your Options with others who are going thru the same hoops!
It was an anxious wait for those final hours to countdown as extra votes came in. Really nail biting stuff! But after 2 weeks of solid voting a clear winner of July's Clips of the Month Poll has been revealed.
And the winner is...drum roll please....
Kevin Rudd vs Climate Change - The Green Paper from N0NEoftheAB0VE
Hey thanks for posting bulletins for our conference! I just checked out the actual Australian Politics TV website... one more favour haha, mind adding Socialist Alliance to the Political parties links? www. socialistalliance. org. au Haha cheers!
Oh huge favour, would you mind adding a link on the profile to Green Left, the only newspaper in Aus from a good left wing point of view... if you don't like the paper no worries, but check it out anyhow! www. greenleft. org. au
August 6 and 9 marks the 63rd anniversaries of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Reminders of the horrific capabilities of the worst weapons of terror, these events indiscriminately killed an estimated 220,000 people and left tens of thousands severely injured and traumatised.
Today's nuclear weapons are far more powerful than those dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thousands remain on “hair trigger alert” status, ready for launch in minutes. They risk all life and future generations. They risk our crops, our climate, economies, and industries… indeed everything we have, and have ever fought to protect.
This is not an "activist" or "green" issue. It is one of survival and sanity.
Abolishing the world’s current 26,000 nuclear weapons before any are used again can be achieved via mass public opposition and a long overdue Nuclear Weapons Convention to outlaw such weapons, their development and threat of use.
