The Australian Rock’n’Roll Appreciation Society (ARRAS) was founded in 1974. We are not a dance club, but an association of people who have a passion for '50s style music. We are a mixed bunch of enthusiasts, consisting mainly of record collectors, music promoters, DJs, musicians and rock'n'roll dancers. Our club members come from all over the globe and everyone who shares our passion is welcome to join us.
We publish a quarterly magazine called the “Big Beat of the '50s" which pays tribute to all genres of roots music that were the forerunners to rock'n'roll. Our magazine also includes articles about present day artists who have their roots in the old sounds. Annual membership with ARRAS includes four issues of the “Big Beat of the ‘50s” magazine, posted to your address.
ARRAS also presents a weekly radio show called “Shake, Rattle and Roll” which is broadcast every Saturday night between 8 PM – 9.30 PM (AEST). “Shake, Rattle and Roll” is now available via live streaming over the internet: Radio 3CR Melbourne

Aust. Rock n Roll Appreciation Society's Friend Space (Top 18)
Aust. Rock n Roll Appreciation Society has 1000 friends.
Hi Aust. Rock n Roll Appreciation Society ... Thanks for the ADD! ... Resistance is Futile Earthling!!!
After a long journey from out home planet in the distant Omega Centauri Galaxy, The Del Sonics have arrived on Planet Earth to embark on our "World Domination Imminent" tour! Commencing in Brisbane, Australia, the run of dates will continue until total global power is achieved. The latest and most potent weapon in ouir arsenal is the new album release “Destination...Planet Rock!”. Eight rolled-gold total psych-out cuts, recorded in May 2009, showcase the cream of this intergalactic instro/prog/surf outfit.
Don’t be fooled by the wiggy song names – “(No One Likes A) Smart Arsed Robot”, “Funky Chikisho”, and the epic acid-trip of “Speak Cyborg…Or DIE!” – these are killer rock and roll tracks delivered by a band that’s been a sensation on the live circuit the past year.
The engine-room rhythm section of The Big Kahuna (bass) and Krank Daddy (drums) powers like the Starship Enterprise on steroids. Out the front directing traffic on Fender Mustang (and with NASA-grade guitar pedal technology at his feet) is Twang, the one-man tsunami!
Sounds like… hmmmm...The Ramones and The Ventures hanging out at Frank Zappa's beach house with John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix and The Monkees. Later, Ritchie Blackmore and The Ronettes will drop in for fondue and bikini Twister!
It's surf music, Jim, but not as we know it........

A few weeks ago I backed up Don Woody at the 1st Rockabilly Bash. I did that with the Tri-Tones from Estonia. Here’s a video clip with his song “Barkin’ Up The Wrong Tree”.
At the same evening I released my 2nd album ‘Mixed Up”. I recorded this album with The Neva River Rockets from Russia, the Tri-Tones and did two duets with U.S.A singer Karling Abbeygate.
On My Space page you will find some previews of the songs in my mp3 player. If you like my album I can send it to you for €13.00/ $20,00 / ₤12.00 world wide, all costs included.
