Who or what is Austre Giltrap? Austre Giltrap is composed of four entities, four very different beings, who share one significant thing in common: the desire to make, play, and record unique, alternative rock. The Giltrap’s found each other on the outskirts of Atlanta. They officially became a band in August 2005, and started playing shows soon after. Austre Giltrap has performed all over the metro-Atlanta/Athens area (Smiths Olde Bar, the Masquerade, etc.) as well as on college radio stations 91.1 WREK (Georgia Tech) and 90.5 WUOG (University of Georgia). With their exciting live performance and entertaining stage presence, they continue to build a following with every show played. Becoming a finalist in the 5th annual Sweetwater Bar and Grill Battle of the Bands shows that Austre Giltrap is a force to be reckoned with! In 2007, Austre Giltrap started playing w/ a new lead guitarist from Athens, giving them a new refreshing sound. Energetic and different, they add to all the raw, unique talent developing in the metro-Atlanta area.
