If she were just inches away, I would edge up to her ear, and whisper
“I wish you were mine”
She would feel me going into her mind with gentle thoughts of wants and wishes
Facing her just inches away eye to eye I’d let her see into me that I have nothing to hide
I am empty without her
The thought of her presence encourages a desire in me to come baring my soul
She could fill me up with her needs and wants and place them in every corner of my soul
If she were mine
I would kiss her into the beginning of time so we could live and never run out of time to kiss for as long as God exhales life into us
My lips would journey the path she leads me
I find myself in her secret valleys with no way out
My lips, her lips, would invent a new way to travel and never move more than an inch
If she were mine
I would lay my head on her breast and listen to what is inside her
There would not be a worry if she would do the same for me
She is love and breathes love, and with her, every heartbeat I gain faith
If only she were mine
I would take her hand and we would dance
I gaze at her classic lines and let her beauty lead
We stride side by side
Dip bend and spin
We intertwine emotional clefs of Beethoven and Mozart and unify into jazz
Coltrane blows soft stars, and Aretha floats earth tones and we glisten in the passion and lust that knows no end
If she were mine
I would let her shine
I want all to see she is more than a companion
She is my queen
She is my Favorite thing
If she were mine
I would be holding her in my arms
If she were mine
I would speak in scatting tongues
She would understand me, and that is all that matters
If she were mine
This poem would never end
Until she is mine, I’ll dream
