Who I am as a writer and a dreamer I feel defines my person as an author. I am a person with a very active imagination and am always creating new storylines in my mind. I can visualize scenes in my head almost constantly, and if I had a longer attention span I’m sure I could be writing non-stop just to feed my overactive imagination. I am a bit of a storyteller, and love to tell a story. Sometimes I find it more interesting to tell a story than to write it, though in the end if I want my story to be remembered, it gets put to paper (or typed into my computer). I have created more than 100 concepts for volumes I am hoping to one day write, and many of them I have outlined as well. I do not like to let one idea go to waste, for each idea I have is another chapter to my universe, and in my mind my universe is always expanding.
As a writer I have also come to realize that the more I write, the more I come to understand myself and my life. I suppose you could say that writing is my journey of self-discovery. I learn more about myself and the world around me through my writing, and I feel there is so much of this that I want to share with the world. Don’t get me wrong, I do write to entertain, but I also write with purpose. I feel there is always something a person can acquire from reading my works, and I like to think that once a person has finished one of my volumes (or volume, as it stands), that they have gained something from it. I could be wrong on this, but this is how I feel.
I am also the type of person who works on multiple projects at one time, and currently have about ten volumes I am writing on. When I write I usually do go back and forth on my different projects until one of them really draws me in, and I work on it exclusively until I have completed it, then I go back to work on the others again.
Aside from writing, I am a person with diverse tastes and am a bit of an individualist. I collect canes and swords; I also collect journals and teddy bears. My favourite foods are cheesecake and cheese, in that order, and I enjoy quiet walks of an evening, especially if I am near water. Don’t ask me why, but water fascinates me, whether it be a stream, river, or an ocean, or if it be the rain, I find water to be soothing and calming, and beautiful to look at.
Other things to know about me…
I have a fear of aliens, needles, clowns, enclosed areas, being alone, being alone in an enclosed area with a clown. (I know, I wouldn’t technically be alone if the clown was with me, but the idea still terrifies me.)
